Charmed Comic coming in summer 2010

I really love the storyline so far. It's a really cool way to bring old characters back without it looking cheezy, unlike other series *cough*Buffy Season 8*cough*. Obviously enemy names that pop up right away is both Zankou and The Source. There's probably gonna be another Big Bad because there's got to be someone pulling the wheels. I personally would love it if it was either Zankou or The Source (off topic, but does anyone else prefer his look from season 3? I though it was very creepy and it was like mocking the side of good with the wings).

Barbas appeared way too much in the series. He's character was given a epic-like ending in "Sympathy For The Demon" and he was ruined in season 6.

I really love the idea of the Devil being the Big Bad. It's made clear in the series that the Underworld and Hell are two separate places.

I always thought the Underworld was Hell...when did they say it wasn't?

I like the Source more with the dark voice, red hands, and black cloak. His red costume looks great, and I like the reference to the Fallen Angel from Heaven, but I think the black cloak is subtler.

I don't think it's "the devil", like I already said. Demons and Devils are one an the same in the Charmedverse.

I know it won't be the devil devil, I was just saying that I thought it would be cool if it was. It's made very clear in the synopsis that it'll be a character from the past.

It's never referenced directly, but the way they say reference it makes it sound like the two are different places. Besides, I don't see tortured mortal spirits in the Underworld. I guess it's one of those things where the audience can make up until later proven in the actual canon.

I think there may be two hells, actually.

As we've seen with that half-demon dude in season 7, evil people can be taken by Death (the Angel) to the afterlife like regular mortals.

But then there are those souls that get trapped by the Soul Collectors, and those clearly are stuck in the Underworld.

So, maybe Heaven and the Underworld, are both like the Underworld of the Ancient Greek myths: for Heaven, there would be a place for good people (i.e The Fields of Elysium) and another one for bad people (i.e. The Fields of Asphodel, if the mind works). And then in the Charmed Underworld, there would be the regular place as we've seen for years, the demons' lairs, and then a place where they literally torture spirits they captured (though all aren't probably evil, since it's demons we're talking about and they love their tortured souls to be innocent, don't they?).

Soul Collectors take souls to Purgatory I think. Whenever they're in Purgatory, you can hear screams. So maybe Hell is the name for both the Underworld and Purgatory?

Back on topic, I forgot to comment on the alternate cover for #3 (thanks again David ! But... I wasn't missing out on that much. It's not THAT bad, but it's no where near as good as the cover we've already seen. Plus, after the beautifully mystic nudity in #2's cover, this one just looks... lame. As for the girls themselves, Paige looks 20 years younger, Piper looks 20 years older, and Phoebe looks... well, Phoebe just looks bad. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be symbolic to what actually goes on in the issue, or this just isn't the artist's best work, but... yeesh.

Still, can't wait!! ;D

The shading on her face is horrible in some places, and the dialouge, hmm. I'm probably having a bad day but what did she mean when she said "Watch the Vines"? Wasn't she the one slicing and dicing them? And the boys, their haircolor kept switching in every panel. Idiots.

Not really hyped. Wish they'd have given us three other pages, even the one with the fritzy haired telekinetic bitch. Whatever is happening in these pages was pretty self-explanatory from the lineart.

It didn't manage to boost my excitement.

EDIT: Oh, I think the vines and the potions that appeared out of nowhere are Melinda's doing. Either she has a Wyatt-like projection power, can conjure stuff, or is simply an advanced telekinetic a la Paige, without the orbs.

I dont believe she will have conjure powers. Where could she have inherited them from? The teekinesis is possible

Where did Wyatt inherit his forcefield from? And what about his projection power?

The preview looks good. Obviously it is setting up the story, so I'm not overly excited (mostly because it is stuff we've already seen) but it's nice to see them in colour.

Exactly how I felt- can't really judge the dialogue yet.

I have a question . TFAW.COM says that charmed issue #2 will be available July 28, 2010. And it says issue #1 and issue #0 will be available the same date June 30, 2010. Havent the creative team said that Issue #1 will be available in July?
