Charmed Comic coming in summer 2010

It looks like it's official. YAY !! ;D more Charmed adventures!! I hope they sell well so that'll keep making like hundreds of them.

Ok im psyched. Lol I cant wait to see how this is. I wonder if they will keep the girls in character and if it will be like a season 9.

Only drawback is I hope they don't try to make them look slutty every comic, but i cant wait.

If this doesn't release, I won't be all mopey and sad that we didn't get a season nine. Because C-net's was enough for me.

That out of the way, the promo looks alright. I can't tell the sisters apart though. I'm assuming the one on the left is Piper, on the right is Phoebe and the one in the middle is Paige. They should make Paige a red-head again.

Now, in the post they stated that it wasn't confirmed, but I think 2 promotional posters released by Zenescope is confirmation enough. So yeah, I think it's safe to say, it's official.

I'll buy the first 3 issues to see what it's like. If it's good, I'll subscribe.

I also hope they don't try to draw them slutty all the time. I also hope that they research some things, like events that happened and such and also that the demons will be "demons" again like Abraxas.

You really can't tell the difference? I think Paige looks the most true to life, and Piper is quite god as well. Phoebe's isn't the greatest likeness though.

I'm really happy with this news, and I think the comics will be pretty successful, I know some of you have made comments about the girls looking slutty, but the if you've seen any of the companies other comics, you'll see that this is the look they go for with their female characters. I don't mind, since let's face it, on Charmed they hardly kept it covered up all the time did they?

Well no. I can tell the one of the left is Piper, but the other two don't really, IMO, resemble the characters they're supposed to rappresent. Iunno, maybe because it's LQ.

The way i can tell is Piper is on the left just the way she looks tells me that. I believe Phoebe is in the middle. And Paige is on the right. And the reason i say that is the features the one on the right has is similar to Rose's is my opinion. And plus in this picture that character is holding a ball that looks like orbs.

I know that on the show they weren't all covered up, but they overdo it a bit on that cover for Phoebe (if she's the one in the middle)

Someone on Twitter asked Holly what she thought about the comic, but she doesn't know anything about it.

Has anyone here read a comic? I think their quite covered up for it being a comic in these times. Look at the pictures of the other comics on zenescope's website. Or any comic featuring girls, really. That's always how they're drawn.

I think they can if they have the studio's consent, since it's based on the characters they created. The exception for "Charmed" would be Prue, since Aaron Spelling wrote into Shannen's contract that she has control of her image, something that wasn't written into any of the other actor's contract. So my guess is we won't see Prue in the new comic book.

Funny, but the original drawings, I could tell who was who very easily, but for me, in that cover drawing, it's very hard. Piper's easy, but you could convince me that the other two were totally different actresses without any problem.

I'll accept that Paige is the one in the middle due to the orb, but having her in the middle doesn't make a lot of sense--in the latter seasons, Alyssa was supposed to be the big star the way Shannen was in the first three, while Piper actually was the star of the last three. You would think one of the two should be the one with the most emphasis--middle and largest. It makes me wonder if Paige will get her chance to shine in this series--although no way could it be as good as "Witchlighter"..

According to deviantART artist David "Dave" Hoover (Tarzman), comic book/graphic novel publishing company Zenescope Entertainment may be coming out with a comic book based on Charmed.

He has posted the following on one of his model sheets:

"If everything goes according to plan I'll be working on a "Charmed" comic book based on the hit TV series published by Zenescope Entertainment. To get the job I had to compete with others vying for the same gig, and our task was to do model sheets of the girls showing how we would draw them. The art would be approved by the studio.

The odd thing about this was that they supplied no photo reference, so I searched the internet high and low looking for the best possible pictures. Of the three girls, I thought Alyssa Milano would be the easiest to draw, but she turned out to be the hardest. She sort of changed her look more often than the other two, Rose McGowan and Holly Marie Combs.

I worked on a Star Trek, the Next Generation book one time in the past, and for that they supplied all kinds of great reference. In this case I did the best I could. Profile shots were the hardest to find, and I ended up compositing several photos to try to come up with a good profile shot of each of the girls.

I was happy with the end result, and I guess the studio was too, because I got the job."

Click on the images in order to enlarge them. Looking at these, I don't think the same artist drew the cover drawing. I wish he had.

This article is also what told me that it's the studio that gave the OK for the images, not the actresses.

I think those drawings were just for the add and the other, better ones the real ones. I also think that Paige is the one on the right, it seems more like her. Making Phoebe the one in the middle.

I just noticed that they drew a book lying open behind the middle one. I so hope that isn't the Book of Shadows because it has a mistake.

Which ones are you counting as the ad and which ones are you counting as for real? Hopefully it's the drawings that will actually be used.

As for Phoebe being the one in the middle; I hope you're right, even if I hope she's not the one that the comic centers around.

I'm pretty sure Paige is the one on the right, if you look closely, her mouth is slightly open, and in many of Rose's photo shoots, her mouth is open like that.

Holy cow! I am so buying the first issue and hoping they don't do it à la Charmed novels! Because if the girls start launching fireballs out of the blue, I think I'm going to throw the comic at someone's head... ehe.

Also, I really do hope that that strange pyramidal triquetra thingie isn't going to be their new symbol and that it -- and the strange powers Phoebe and Paige display -- are all linked to their Valkyrie-esque outfits...

I also believe the middle one is Phoebe -- she's slimmer than Paige for one thing, and it would make a chronological sense from left to right: Piper, Phoebe, then Paige.

Anyway, I know I'm showing a lot of reserve, and I really hope they're not going to disappoint 'cause we've all been waiting for this.

Oh, if something's happened so that they are now superheroines, like the Valkyries, I'm going to be seriously sick. That wouldn't be Charmed at all.

And to have a totally different symbol?? *shakes head and shivers* Although I wondered when they didn't have the chandelier light above the word "Charmed".

LOL, my bad--I was just skimming earlier posts and thought I'd read someone saying that it was Paige in the middle due to the orb, but it's very obvious that the one with the orb is the one on the right. I still don't think Phoebe and Paige look anything like Alyssa or Rose, except for Rose's slightly opened mouth, but as we keep saying, hopefully for the *real* comic book, they'll look more like the drawings, including the clothes.

But I can't believe they'd use something that sloppily put together as just an ad, unless that's truly what it's going to be like. I certainly hope not.

ETA: Looking at the ad again, I noticed that Piper has her hands out as if she's using one of her powers, but what's that thing coming out of Phoebe's hands (it's what made me think she was Paige--it looked like she was throwing an orb)? If Phoebe's suddenly developed an active power, especially something like throwing fireballs, I won't be very happy.

The more I look at it, the more I hope the ad is the exception more than the rule.
