We, the Shadow Staff, are proud to announce to the whole community that we have successfully expanded our Elderdom after a long and tiring war against Lazyness.

Thus, for our second anniversary as rulers of the Charmedverse, we present to you our new colony: The Shadow Network.

Our new land will, hopefully, bring many citizens from different Fandoms -- it is indeed meant to stand as an agora for every neighboring Fandom subject to visit and trade with their peers pieces of news on what is going on in their own Land.

But it isn't all, dear folks. The war has left us Elders bone-weary. So do we ask of you that you get involved, help us build the place, make it a common project between kings and subjects.

And so, Shadow People, we ask that you help spread the word that the coolest place to be for one's next Internet vacation is The Shadow Network!

There will be no shutting down of ST at all, so you have nothing to worry about. We are simply expanding. Shadow Tales is now our fan fan fiction realm & we're still deciding if we want to keep the art here or move it but I'm in favour of keeping it here.

Um, okay. I'm still really confused about this. Okay, so ST is now just for fan fictions and the 4 main stories as well as graphics and DE, contests and stuff like that. And SN is for short fictions. What do you mean by that, like one-shots? And the shows. Are you expanding conversations with the board. And watchers: I'm still don't realize how it works. I'm sorry, it's just that it came out of the blue and there's alot of threads. I made an account, but yeah, I'm still confused about it.

Well, what TSN is about I can't explain better than I already did on the board itself:

It is mainly a place to share your thoughts about past, actual and future shows/books/artists. Yes, TSN is the place where you can expand discussion, because there EVERY episode/novel of every series can be discussed in its own thread, if said series has its own subboard, that is.

It isn't for short or long fictions: it's not the length of the story that'll matter when it comes to the Shadow Channel, it's the availability of the writer to release a chapter or episode every (two) week -- which is why the Channel isn't yet opened.

Watchers. Well, I thought I'd made a topic about the ranks and groups, but apparently I only put it in the private section of the board. Watchers are basically moderators-to-be. They don't have any powers yet, but if they manage to keep their part of the board clean and chaos-free, they'll eventually become moderators.

And, frankly, I don't see that there're that many threads :s Sure, all in all, there are a lot, but the important ones, those you need to get started, are just the few ones in "The Notice Board" and "The Application Form". The others are just regular discussion threads about series and such.

If you need any more help about the board, though, don't hesitate to ask.

Martin, I think they mean that you might get a chance to get your fic "featured" on a weekly/monthly basis on SN. Kinda like those other network boards if you have visited them. It would just be on a regular basis.

And watchers are mods of the said board they're assigned to. I'm that of Heroes there, just like Criminally Vulgar moderates the "Artistic Expression" board here. Get what I mean?

I really don't want to burst anyone's bubble, but if I'm being completely honest, I don't really see TSN becoming a success... Didn't the exact same thing happen with Charmed-Net when it became C-Net and expanded on a selection of shows? The only difference is that now there are two entirely different websites to go to, complicating things even more. Plus, judging by how lively the "other shows" section is here at ST... I don't really see this going anywhere.

I hate to be so pessimistic, especially seeing as I've grown to like this board and its members as much as I do, but that's just my honest opinion. That's not to say that I wouldn't mind being proven wrong in this case, but in all honesty...

And wow, I'm being optimistic for once, must be some strange bizarro world.

I had my doubts, but honestly, it's never going to work unless we give it a shot, right? Spread the word and get people there like you did for your DE. I'll even be nice to them to "ease them in". And we've got Heroes there too, and Ghost Whisperer. Give discussion a shot. Especially the latter as it has a larger fan following amongst members in this community.

I believe what the new board needs is some sort of incentive, like all the hype that was created with the influx of trailers and posters on Youtube for Matriarch.

And tweet like crazy? I dunno.

Thanks, Brandon. And Alex (it's Alex, right?), we know it, and that's why we didn't take any chance of "losing" Shadow Tales by opening up an all new board. The difference with C-Net is, we're using a free board, so no lost money involved -- we won't just close because members come and go.

All right, I think I'm starting to get it now. When ST opened, we had four fics to read and everything was already made. But With SN, we are the creators, so to speak. So the fanfics are for people who release on a weekly basis?

Couldn't agree more. What got us hyped us for ST was the trailer Ro made. And as someone on the the board once said (can't remember who), people loves something pretty to look at, or something like that.

And honestly, and this the nerd in me talking, I wouldn't be opposed to seeing a...a...rp thread. I always liked doing that. Make it very literate and it could be fun. Anyways, had to ask. ST is against it, but yeah...

Online roleplaying is horrible really.
The only one I enjoyed was on C:tP, and that's because they had a system in order. SN is just starting out. And besides, have you seen what most of the noobs here write? You can have the "Power of Three words" game here, and you can make it a multifandom mess if you'd like. Are we allowed to have games here? I don't care, to be honest.

You don't see? Is there any thread here that discusses one particular book, or one particular episode? No, there's only a general topic on books, a general topic on a series, etc., because there's no real room for it here without changing the very nature and shape of Shadow Tales. So instead, we created a new board where there is ample room for that, and if that's not enough of an explanation, well sorry I have no other lol

I really don't understand why people aren't getting what TSN is all about. It's really not very difficult to understand, maybe the PM about storms and elders and lands threw people a bit, but it's really just a place to discuss different shows/fandoms.

I think those in doubt should give it a shot.
There isn't much going on, but that's because people have issues and problems with it. There's a vast number of topics/fandoms for you to choose to open discussion in, and you'd be surprised by the people who would reply. I, honestly, didn't know that David ever watched Heroes. Nor did I know that more people in the community watch 90210.

So yes, make a noise there for heaven's sake. Discover things yourself. Of course, if you mess up, you get a warning. (I kid, I kid. I think.)

Yeah, SN has a lot of potential. There's a great variety of shows and fandoms open for discussion. There, there can be an individual thread for an episode, for a character etc. And books and music, as well. People should really give it a shot and join because it looks really fun there. I really hope the SN community starts to grow soon. I think in the summer, people will have more time to check it out.

What's the difference between The Golden Age and The Projection Room? I assumed it was just that one was the cancelled shows, one was the shows that are still airing, but Ghost Whisperer is among the cancelled shows (it moved to ABC), and Heroes is with the shows still on TV (it got axed for good)...? :s

I'll be joining later today, I just have a lot of things to do at the moment, and was just wondering about that.

I think it was made/placed before cancellation was announced, and wasn't moved. And we're letting Heroes hang in there for a week or two before moving it. There's a topic in the "Season 5" board about it. (Join the Kring bashing!)
