For Heroes, I'm waiting on the final word about that mini-series "eventuality". As for GW, I was told it was canceled for good, which is why I moved it. Should I put it back in the Projection Room, then?

I shall move Legend of the Seeker as well, if by July there's no word on it being re-picked.

GW hasn't moved to ABC, it has ended now for good. I think it should stay with the cancelled shows since ABC passed on picking it up.

I think you should maybe send out another PM, and ditch the metaphors and charmed references and just say "Hey guys, we started something new, it's another forum except for everything!".

No I don't. There's nothing complicated about that message. It just says, as you clearly got it, that we opened a new board. And, as anyone would expect, the message goes on to explain what the board is about and that we Elders would like you members to help us build the place. All that is explained in a rather simple, if funny (in both sense of the term, I'll concede) way.

And no, the message does not really go on to explain anything about the board except that there will be different "Fandoms" there and it is supposed to be an agora. There is nothing really explaining what the board is really about or intriguing in the message I think. You should have been more clear that this board is something that will be developed by members, not just moderators like all other boards. You should have clearly stated, why this board is different to the millions of other ones out there. And also, why it is different to Shadow Tales.

Terry, I believe what Karla is saying is to simplify it for the slow ones? While some of us got what the new board is about, I doubt most of the everyday members have. Also, I say you should expand on what the board is about in a new PM, in a simple manner. I didn't really understand the activities that were going to be held there until I visited it and read into it. And honestly, not everyone has that level of patience.

So yes, new PM for the slow ones? You've got nothing to lose really.

The RPG part is the message itself. I put myself in the shoes of a real Elder/God whose land have been expanded and is now asking his folk to help build the new "towns". I'm sorry the humor hasn't got to you.

To explain the example above: the kings are the admins, the subjects are the other members. And the admins ask that the members participate in the building of the new place.

I'm not one to bring the tray overstuffed for people to help themselves until their bellies are full. If they can't work the meaning in a message for themselves, then that's not my fault.

Now, you can say you didn't understand, but others have so you can't say it wasn't clear. Because you and a few others didn't get it doesn't make it a general rule that the message is unclear, is all I say.

That is basically what I am saying. But, you, Terry, instead of maybe taking something I said on board, you immediately hopped on the defensive and insisted I was wrong and your message was fine. Now I don't know if Brandon is being sarcastic or not here, but if he is not, it is clear I was not the only one who didn't get what the board was about. And if Brandon is just joking, well, whatever I still stand by what I say.

Maybe next time Terry you should just step off your high horse and maybe take on board what people have to say instead of immediately jumping up to defend your honor, "king".

I have to agree with Karla here. Call me "slow", say that I don't get the "humor", but in all honesty, understanding the message was more trouble than it was worth. While you proved to us that you explained that the board is member-made not mod-made, Karla's other points still stand:

Understanding and clarity are two completely different things. For us, we didn't understand AND it wasn't clear, and in my opinion, if any members of this board didn't think it was clear enough, you should've just sucked it up and HELPED them understand rather than using your authority position to lash out on members.

Nonetheless, I will be joining the board right now, as I promised. I kept trying to do it yesterday, but my real life was completely out of control. Thank you for finally agreeing to make the message clearer, but like I said, you can't expect all the members of this board to do as you ask if any of them don't understand what is being asked of them. Next time, please just help- no questions asked. Thank you.

I know this is my first time talking about the matter, but I have to agree. I, at first, also didn't understand. At all. Reading through this topic completely cleared it up for me, but the PM was a little complicated. I don't understand why the original wasn't sent as a simple explanation of what the board was about, why we should join, and a link to navigate us there.

Hey guys.

Well I've noticed that there have been some confusion and misunderstandings concerning the new board so I'm here to clear that up and to give you the 411 from my side. Hopefully this will make more sense.

The Shadow Network

The Shadow Network, what is that all about?

Well, after Shadow Tales has been online for two years, The Elders decided to expand our playground. With ST we have, in a sense, limited space to expand. As it is, ST's homepage is slightly crowded and we don't want a board you have to scroll forever through to get to what you are looking for. In the end it makes the board cluttered & that's the last thing we want. We have also realized that the members' interest goes beyond what we can offer them on ST and so the idea for the Shadow Network was born.

We are hoping with the opening of this new board that we are able to attract many new members who are from different supernatural and even non-supernatural fandoms.

On TSN we are also aiming to spotlight a series of fan fictions, may they be short of long. They will be featured on The Shadow Channel. Now, what does that mean? That means that once we approve your series, you will receive your own sub-board on The Channel where you post your episodes/chapters, have discussions about the series and more. It will resemble the main four fics outline but just in smaller scale. The Shadow Channel will also be the home of the newly revised seasons 9 and 10 of Charmed that were hosted over at Charmed-Net and of course a new project that was formed by The Elders. These series will be released on a bi-weekly schedule unless the writer wants to make it weekly. That's up to you. In the end you can consider The Shadow Channel as new network for television, except it comes to you in written form.

The New Discussions

As you can see on the board we have a few new boards consisting of presently airing shows (The Projection Room) and those who have been sent to syndication heaven (The Golden Age). We have decided to expand our interest for different shows by giving them their own boards for a multitude of discussion, debates and so forth. As you can see, we have not limited the shows to those of the supernatural genre. We are thinking about those non-supernatural junkies as well.

You are free to suggest a new show @ The Application Form and then the Staff will discuss it and if there is enough interest in that show, it will receive a board of it's own otherwise it will receive a sub-board.

The Silver Screen is where our movie junkies can come together to discuss forthcoming movies or past movies. We can share multimedia, images and more with each other as we share in the anticipation of the latest release.

You all might not know this, but the Staff has been trying fervently to establish a book club/book discussion group but with the limited space over at ST is was impossible to lay the ground work for that. But now, now we have that opportunity. The Library has granted us that. In The Library you are free to post a thread with in depth details about a recent book or series you have read. This way, other members can check out that book/series if it has piqued their interest and then they have the opportunity to have some discussion about it.

the iPod is our music cave. Where the music lovers can come and share their favourite albums, songs or artists.

What will become of Shadow Tales?

The Shadow Network will in future become the main board while Shadow Tales will be an extension of it. Yes folks, that means Shadow Tales' doors will not be closing at all. I know that has been a concern for many of you. Shadow Tales will now become the creative side of The Shadow Network. This means, the four main fics (Matriarch, Witchlighter, Alt. Season 2 and Virtual Season 9), all the other fan fictions, art, contests, DE and other multimedia will remain at Shadow Tales.

Now you all may think "Charmed-Net did the same when it became C-Net and they closed their doors for good. You are basically signing ST's death warrant."

The difference? We are not closing the board that started it all. We are keeping the core. But like any parents we have to let our baby grow and growth has become imminent.

Now this is where we need your help. As you can see, the board is pretty bare, thread-wise so we are asking all the members to pitch in and help us grow our community. You all have been so incredible with the growth of Shadow Tales and we couldn't have done it without you all so we're asking you to lend a hand to TSN. You are free to PM one of the staff and ask to become a Watcher to a specific board if you decide to devote your time to one show. This is as much YOUR board as it is OURS. Because without you all, we wouldn't be where we are today.

In the coming weeks the Staff will be making the necessary changes. Moving the boards over to TSN and revamping both boards and so on. So, you see the need for us to rally up the members and ask for help. We simply cannot handle it all so we hope you are will lend a helping hand.

If you are still unsure about anything, feel free to pm me or any of the other Elders and we'll try to answer your questions to the best of our abilities.
