The ad is probably just drawn to look all WHOAW and OOH instead of being accurate. I like how they drew Piper's hand though. I immediately thought about her powers.

I have some news.

Alyssa Milano confirmed on twitter that there will be a comic. Here's the tweet.
Alyssa_Milano: Speaking of comic books, I have confirmed that there is a Charmed comic book in the works.

And the cover image was not drawn by the same artist. It was drawn by "Top Cow artist Eric Basaldua".

But I can't believe they'd use something that sloppily put together as just an ad, unless that's truly what it's going to be like. I certainly hope not.

I also hope not. Dave Hoover did say that he got the job so I can't see why the let Basaldua make the ad. Zenescope should really make an announcement of some kind.

I also located a blank HQ copy of the cover. It's actually a really good drawing.

Perhaps they took one of the entry drawings from the contest and used it as the ad but that won't be how the actual comic looks. From the way the winner drew the characters there is no way the comic will be released looking so sloppy.

I will definitely be buying this even if it isn't the greatest because it will still be part of the charmed collection.

I really hope that they continue the show like the Buffy comics are (not that I've read those) but I hear they do so it would be really neat.

And yeah, I was trying to think of what the cover could mean, but now it does seem obvious, what with the blackboard and such. Man, I'm so excited now! Paul Ruditis is my favorite author of the Charmed books. He was so good at having interesting story lines, getting the characters right, having great humor, etc. He really understood Charmed and I am so glad he is writing the comics. I was worried before, wondering if they could find someone to do it justice, but my worries are gone. Charmed is in good hands with Paul.

I guess it could be about reclaiming Magic School, but then would that be the plot for #1 or the whole comic series' arc? I hope the former, or that could be really boring, methinks. And what are those plantlike tentacles? The park gone wild or some kind of demon? We never really had a vinelike demon, did we? ;D Ohhhh! What if that's Piper's new power? I mean, she's the only one of the three that the vinelike thing is clinging to and it doesn't seem like an attack. *sigh* Guess we'll find out in July.

The cover does look really great, but their heads seem to be oddly placed. As long as the actual comic is nicely written and drawn, I don't really care much about the cover. I was also confused about the issue #0 thing, maybe it's a prologue to help new readers understand Charmed, before they put the story arc in motion.

I will definitely be buying.

I can't wait. I love the idea. I am not a comic book person, so maybe this shall get me into it. I never bought the Buffy comic, so maybe it shall prompt me to do so lol. But I am looking forward to this.

I'm really exited. Paul Ruditis is one of my favorite authors of the Charmed books as well so I'm hoping the comic will be awesome as well!

The cover looks great, though Phoebe's head looks weird. But I'm loving Piper standing in the middle for a change.

I agree that there's something odd about the head placement. Obviously I'm super excited, and I'm going to buy the comic regardless of what the cover looks like, and the logical part of me knows it's probably going to undergo some tweaking between now and July anyway, but it just sort of.... bothers me. The chalkboard, though, the chalkboard I love. The whole background is awesome. It's going to be a looong wait to July.

I have no idea whether you two are being serious or not but, seriously? I think you've got things mixed up here: we're the ones who should be sued for using characters, places and ideas that aren't our own. Zenescope, contrary to us, have the right to write about anything Charmed. That they happen to use an idea that's already been written about in a fanfic is only natural since:

1. we're writing about the same themes,
2. the comics is coming after years and years of fanfictions so every different idea has probably already been used somewhere that we're not even aware of.

I mean, I've read a French season 9 that came online before there was talk of a c-net season 9 and there were similarities between the two that you'd think are impossible.

Well, rant over, just don't joke around with plagiarism, it's a serious issue.

Here's the full article. I'm glad to hear that Holly, Alyssa and Rose all agreed to their likeness being used! And issue #0 is a special Spellbook issue (maybe that explains the whole history or at least recaptures the last season) and they'll officially debut at Comic Con International in July.

I hope soon too. But they mentioned in the article to took almost a year to get the license to make a comic, so it's understandable it took so long.

Ross' fanfiction ended before S8 ended (I think). However, the following were already established long before it ended:

- Paige having twins.
- Phoebe being romantically linked with a character who is potrayed by Victor Webster.

And there was another, I forgot.

And I know what you mean, Terry, but don't get your panties in a knot. This is an ongoing joke. I wouldn't be surprised if it was "inspired" as most peasants here say, as I'm the writers are most probably fans themselves. But eh, they have the rights.

However, if they sprout out a long lost Prue daughter named Pamela who falls in love with a mysterious musician named Keith:

Do link me to the French S9 via PM though. My French is a bit rusty since O Levels, but I can figure it out (alongside a Google-translated version).

And damn, comic con is far far away. So, if Piper's powers are Geokinesis, what do you think? Because it goes against the canon power-set Piper was given.

Also, now that budget cuts are out of the question, I hope the comic has more demon-like demons and less tramps in leather.
