hello i am zomgas and i am one of the 2 people who update the charmed comics post in charmed wiki.
i have some news according to charmed comic issue #2. its coming on 28 july. it isnt sure but i think this is the right date. also i asked in facebook one of the writers ( raven gregory ) how will pipers freezing will work in the comics. he said that he cant explain it but they found a good way. he then told me that there is a scene where piper moves betwwen the raindrops. i asked him if they are gonna use the inviroment and he said yes.
also he twitted that right now he is working on charmed comics#3
david seidman twitted that he finished charmed comics cover for issue #3
raven gregory also told me that new previews come in THE WAKING #4 (he told me that the previews have to do with pipers freezing powers.)

I actually never considered how they would show Piper's freezing. They obviously can't just freeze the background and have her unfrozen, because now she's a drawing, and it'd be too much of a hassle to determine what's frozen and what's not. But if they said they found a way, I'm trusting it's all in good hands. They haven't let us down yet...

This raindrops scene intrigues me. I saw part of a movie YEARS ago in which they froze water, and I had always hoped that they would do something like that on Charmed, but it never happened, so finally being able to see it done on the series (graphic novels, television, it still counts) is a huge treat for me. ;D

edit Found the movie, 2002's Clockstoppers. They also conveniently had a trailer with the frozen water scene as the thumbnail.

There's a scene at 0:34 where water is frozen, but the scene I remember is at 2:03. It's a very short clip, but you can see how it basically looks/works.

You know, just the other day I was giving the initial ad we'd gotten another look and it seemed like Piper's hands had an eerie blue glow around them while they were outstretched. Granted, it's not the same artist, but I think that I would be alright with that. If they had the subtle glow initially on her hands and then on the frozen objects in the following panes or whatever.

And Alex, you don't watch Smallville, do you?
There are quite a few scenes when Clark's in superspeed and the rest of the world is in slow-mo, and when there's rain/water. It's pretty cool.

I would actually love it if they did a subtle blue glow. I noticed that on the old cover/ad they released, but I thought it was just something artistically pleasing, given that the piece itself was blue. It looks really nice though, so if they did end up portraying it in that way, there would be no complaints for me.

Maybe Issue #0 will show how all of their powers will be portrayed? That way we won't have to go scrambling around trying to interpret the panels? lol That would be very helpful.

I think they might give the objects or characters frozen a blue hue or something. I'm also interested in how the environment will be used.

I had to think of the various Smallville scene's as well when Raven Gregory mentioned a scene with Piper moving between raindrops.

Exciting! Just one more month before issue #0! I can't wait to see Piper's power used. I looked on the comic article in the Charmed wikia (which personally for me is good, but is highly annoying with the constant fan-fic adding). Looking at the Wonderland art I can already tell this series is gonna look awesome! Does anyone have a HQ image of the Charmed ad that has Phoebe looking like a Valkyrie? I can only find the sketch and the LQ version of those.

my real name is kostas and i am from greece. as for the bluish tone for the freezing,raven gregory said nothing about it when i asked him.he just told me about the raindrop scene. also he said that pipers glowing hands in issue #1 cover have nothing to do with her freezing. also there is no fan fic in charmed wiki. i was adding a little fan fic at the beggining when i was new but halliwellsattic (thebook) deleted them and i thank him for that. last but not least there is a cover (the not HQ one) that wont be used and we must not take it in consideration.

Kostas, I'm talking about the blue cover where Phoebe was a Valkyrie. Did you ask him about that glow? Because if you haven't, it isn't certain yet, is it.

Also, I know this is a little, but something about Alex saying "how they froze water" makes me fear that they'll soon evolve her powers into cryo and pyro, which would destroy the very essence of her ability.

And off-topic, I have to agree with Racer on CW integrating fanfic into it, as I remember some thingy stole my Melinda character and story and put it up there, replacing Shiri with Kiele Sanchez or someone. Don't know if it's cleaned up, but the place is still a tad bit disorganised and needs to be fine-tuned. That said, it is still resourceful when need be.

And Kostas, please punctuate your posts as much as you can (I'm talking about capitalizing).

yes i am talking about the blue cover too. i personally asked eric balsadua about this cover and he told me that it wont be used.
Also about the raindrops. I dont think we have to worry. She just froze the rain. Her powers are not changing. About the glow i asked Raven Gregory if it has to do with freezing and he said no

It's been removed when I saw it. Those kinds of things are not allowed on there, but I have to agree with you on the disorganization.

Anyway. back to the comics. I don't think they'll change their powers. Like Kostas says, she just froze the rain. I wonder if Piper will be able to freeze like she did in Morality Bites.

HalliwellsAttic i believe that because they have no budget limits and because the episode of morality bites showed the charmed ones in 2009 they must proggress their powers more often than the show. If we consider that the show ended in 21 May 2006 (which is my names day ) that means that the comics are showing to us the last half of 2007(since its 1,5 year after).That means their powers should not be as powerfull as 2009 but they must be better than 2006.
And of course they must bring all of phoebes powers back

They'll probably turn it into early 2008, or who knows, maybe even later? Sometimes people miscalculate.

Why must they bring back all of her powers? Honestly I'd like to read an arc/issue where she earns them back by some means. I have read fics/chapters/episodes on those, and they are quite entertaining. I doubt they'd miss out on telling those tales.
