My 2.08 review: Reyn's Alternate Season 2- Episode 8- Corporate Malfeasance
Alright, I read the teaser a few days ago avoiding my studying and I wanted to go on, but really had to just close the link. When Diego got attacked, I was saying “Damn” after I heard the attacker say that he knew something that was in his laptop and all. Then some freaky simple-speaking spirit (and by simple speaking, I mean how there's always a period that follows after every four words or so) that heals him. I was a little skeptic towards his acceptance to the spirit, but nonetheless, he had to live and I guess he thought he was just seeing the light or something. Also, the attacker don't his boss people to presume him dead and OH BOY! are they going to be in for a surprise when they find out their assassin is dead and their target has the ability to shape into a leopard and his tone has become very emotionless as you said. That's the way I sure was reading it. It was a very interesting teaser.
In the next scene, it was great to hear that Bucklands was in trouble. I love how it's taking them to the crime bosses as well. I hope they fight there as it would make for a good battle. I'm glad that the two sisters are able to recognize one sister's lovestruck face as well. It shows great development for Phoebe and the Man.
I read this scene as well a couple of days ago (after it was premiered) and loved it. I have to do some extreme studying today, but I'll be putting my breaks into this. The Man and Phoebe are my favorite couple so far, for the fact that they aren't even a couple yet and have such great chemistry. Very mysterious, as well, just like this season. Who is the Man? What in the blue hell is his name? When will Phoebe tell her sisters about him, thus leading to Prue saying she's met him before.....Onto the scene, I like Phoebe, was expecting to see some battle out of the practice, but nope; book work comes first, which I actually prefer instead of just jumping into battle. The power still is new and deserves some understanding before. I caught this quote though:
“It is often the smallest detail which opens your eyes, and in turn leads to the greatest discoveries.”
There's one thing to catch a quote, but another to understand it and I'll have to think about this one.
-- I loved the discovery of Phoebe's fake card. Great way of bringing that back in and the entire scene had great description. Very small, not sure if you were going for it, but Jess' mention of the DVD player as a valuable, considering they were fairly new back then, therefore making it something to grow envious of; just as much as jewelry. Poor Mr. Withers.
It was great for Ryan to bring Prue food. She's obviously very stressed as how her tone is represented, almost really bossy. Also, me and Prue share the taste of wontons! I love her even more now, lol. Really happy to see Ryan wanting to get to know Piper better and it makes me wonder about the quote I pulled out last week about focusing the attention on one sister. Bringing Piper into the group, instead of pushing her away, wouldn't be part of the plan. Then again, why the hell hasn't Ryan brought up his experience with seeing Prue use her powers yet? Damn, you tease. Also, one line I picked out to be suspicious was Ryan saying, “It's one of my many talents.” Hmm. Could another talent be hiding in the shadows and watching as your girlfriend uses her powers and keep magically shut about it until the climax of the season where you reveal that you are in fact THE AGENT...Dun Dun Dun....*breathe*
I was wondering if Jackson would ever make a move on Piper this season, if so, I trust you have the ability to not make him DANnoying. (Haha, made up that word...obviously)
Uh oh! Die-GO! (Wow, I am in a wonky mood. Did you catch that unfortunate rhyme?) Knows where they will be at. Glad to hear so he can take them down, but will the Charmed Ones have to take him down. I told myself that I would stop and take a break after Act 1, but I really can't. I'm going to try for Act 2.
Balus is back! I prefer him over Odin. I love how he keeps bringing up what happened with Leo's last charge and apparently, the famous Whitelighter failed greatly at something. Also, can you perhaps give us the time-span if you know from when the season started because I want to know if it has any effect on the six months ago prior to this episode? Now that I think about it; wouldn't that be in-between season 1 and 2, if not in season 1? That might explain Leo's absence some more and he's obviously not sharing that with Piper so far.
Okay, I love what you did with the dog tags; truthfully. It would also make sense and can fit accordingly to how it just rested on Piper's frame as to around her neck. Very sentimental as well. Thanks for the inclusion!
Yes! Practice time for Phoebe! I had to stop myself in the middle of the scene (which I hate) but I love how you explained how Manny can control the intensity of his lightning bolts; I assume he's been training as well since that power was given to him (or maybe returned) this season. It kinda fits in with Cole's “low voltage energy balls”. I'm glad it was explained as I was kinda scared that Phoebe wouldn't be able to tap into her power in time and might get thrown across the stage in a lightning bolt. I couldn't tear myself away to comment anything after their deal was engaged. I actually laughed out loud when the now named, Arcas, hit her by surprise. Also, when he hit her from the balcony, I have a feeling that might come in handy later in the coming battle that I'm expecting within the auction. Also, in case she has to defend herself from Diego, she might have to send him violently as Arcas just went. I have a theory on that as well; he made a note to say that this is a name he uses when in this robes; perhaps this was a way to be honest with her. I don't know. I tend to pull at straws and maybe this should be one that I keep to my soda.
Oh Man! Now Ryan moved from being frozen! It didn't say he unfroze, but perhaps another one of his 'talents' is to remain mobilized to trick witches with that power. It'd be hard to not think of him as the Agent as he gets the most airtime out of him and Jackson, though I can't help but feel he might be working on his own accord. This is getting tricky.
I love Prue. Always thinking ahead with the scrying tools in the car. I can only hope that she isn't driving Ryan home one day and he happens to discover it and question her for it. That would be a real funny scene, watching Prue explain her way out of the supernatural lojack in her car.
I wonder what it is that GeoTech is doing that has pissed Diego off so much and nonetheless, I want to see how the sisters handle helping an Innocent that is far from being innocent. What crime is he so guilty of?
Ah Vengeance Spirits! I love the sound of it and you explained them so well as usual. I'm looking forward to seeing how everything plays out with the sister's splitting up. I had some good laughters with how annoyed Piper got with Troy. And how Prue had no other option but to take him. I thought that Leo could've stayed with him back at the manor, but the Power of Three splitting up is great on its own. ....(read on) Oh, he goes with Leo. Understandable.
Phoebe and Arcas! Yes, they're working together. The battle was remarkable as well. The more I see Arcas, the more I feel better for not having Madam Executive in this episode.
The scene with Prue battling Diego was the best of the episode. The final scene with GeoTech was the best. Watching Prue strive to help Diego fight the spirit and then sadly realized that all hope was lost, having to continue to fight him. Then her sisters came and that fantastic spell was chanted. I have no idea why you think you have trouble with spells as that was just over the top. I love your four liners, but the eight liners are extremely powerful. Also, the threats from Prue were powerful and could only be delivered (at that time) by Shannen D, herself, imo. I was just worried about the exposure risk.
Damn. Darryl is really closing in on them.
Favorite Quotes:
Phoebe: Look at you embracing your inner wiccan.
Phoebe: Don't look at me. I just get the visions, they don't come with a play-by-play commentary.
Prue: If we so choose, we can call fire down from the sky to burn you where you stand. We can curse you with the worst luck imaginable. We can make your life a living hell.

Finally, I got onto episode 8, here's my review. It was a great start to the episode. The minute the attacker said "no one can survive the two stab wounds I gave him" (or at least words to that nature) I knew that Diego was going to survive somehow. The spirit thingy is interesting, it seems to be some sort of Vengeance Spirit, or something along those lines, which is extremely interesting. Diego shifting into the form of a Leopard, I didn't see that one coming at all. That was really great how you made the attacker think he was off the hook and then all of a sudden dead. One thing I do have though is I'm a little sceptical of Diego accepting the spirit so quickly, unless he was that close to death that he didn't really know what was going on and just wanted to live. I guess you don't know what help you'd accept until you were on death's door.
Bucklands in trouble? That's interesting. Now, I wonder why you put Bucklands in trouble. I do like the idea, don't get me wrong, but I start to wonder whether there is another reason for it. And the conversation between Prue and Piper was so funny, especially when they went on about Phoebe's taste in men. I can't wait to see their reaction when they find out who the new man in Phoebe's life is.
Poor Phoebe, reading books as part of her training! And she's still so excited about her new power! I do always love the interaction between the man and Phoebe.
I'm so glad that you're having Darryl find out gradually about the Halliwells, I don't think it will be long until he finds out the truth now, especially since Phoebe's fake business card was found at the house of the dead man from the episode a couple of weeks ago. It was great how you brought that in again, I did wonder what was going to happen, but at first I didn't realise that it was the same old man until Darryl said something about the aliens. I think my brain is completely fried from coursework!
It seems like there's something between Piper and Jackson, but I still have a feeling that he's M.E's agent, so I wonder whether he's just trying to get close to Piper to earn her trust and then find out all the secrets.
Yay! Balus was back. I like him in a strange, annoying Founder, way. He's much better than Odin (I think that was the Elder's name from Season7). There is always this mention of what Leo did and his previous charge. 10 months ago...well that takes it to last year, while he was still a Whitelighter to the Charmed Ones. What is it that happened? How did he fail? So many questions yet no answers as of yet. Can you at least give a spoiler of when we'll find out?
I couldn't help but think of Cole when the Man mentioned about the intensity of his power. Cole and his low-voltage energy balls. And the fight reminded me of when Paige was in Phoebe's body, trying to deflect Cole's energy balls. It definitely put a smile on my face. Finally, we've found out his name. It is definitely easier than calling him "The Man" or the "Purple Robed Guy" definitely.
Something that I'm a little confused on is why Phoebe would have scried four times. Usually they scry once and then set off, why, on this occasion, would she have scried again? I'm sorry that i'm picking up on things that are so small, but sometimes its the little detail like this that people miss out on or don't give a reason for.
It was great how it started out as another mortal problem and finally ended with somebody going to jail. I like the route your going.

Lexi you are spoiling me with these quick turnover reviews! Vengeance Spirit - you got it in one! I always try to make the teasers as action-packed as possible in order to start the episode on a high note (or, if they aren't action packed, they are at least dramatic and/or suspenseful). Having the killer be murdered by the target he thought he'd already killed was a fun bit of irony, and I enjoyed exploring the concept of a vengeance spirit throughout the episode. Perhaps we'll see one again sometime.
Good point with the quick acceptance of the spirit (a point adam also made in his review). For me, I was writing under the opinion that the will to live is very strong, so if someone (or something) offered you the chance to continue on in the moment of your death, you'd take it without thinking. It would only be later that you would start questioning the soundness of your decision, and by then it's already too late.
There is definitely a reason behind mentioning that Buckland's is in trouble. The majority of dialogue and plot-lines in the scripts goes somewhere, even if it takes a season. There is no 'filler' discussion in the episodes - it all means something!
The Man and Phoebe are an interesting dynamic. He's mysterious and intriguing, and Phoebe is drawn to that mystery. She really enjoys his company - and I think that is due not only to the mystery surrounding him, but also the fact that she can be herself around him - she doesn't need to hide any part of herself, because he knows her so well.
Ha! One of the problems of the 'written' word rather than actually seeing it on tv. On tv, it would have been clear who the dead man (mr. withers) was, but in script it's a little harder to convey. Darryl is definitely on to the sisters, though - and if he finds out their secret, they won't be able to simply erase his memories with a little whitelighter memory dust. They should definitely be on their toes!
There's definitely something between Piper and Jackson. Whether that is a good or bad thing remains to be seen.
Glad you like Balus! He is so much fun to write, because he's your typical cranky old man stereotype - but he's a cranky immortal man with a duty complex. Which makes him infinitely more trouble! As to Leo's failure as a whitelighter - that is partially answered in 2.11, but will be fully detailed in the season finale. There are hints along the way, though, and as a spoiler I will say that the period of time mentioned (ie 10 months ago) would bring us back to the end of season 1 as you correctly theorised. Specifically, it brings us back to around the same time as the episode "Love Hurts"
Ahh the training sessions with Cole! I remember those as well - and I also remember that the writers used them for a few episodes, and then they just disappeared into the aether. Not so with Phoebe and Arcas's training sessions - which will be an ongoing thing throughout the season. The training sessions are good bonding time for the two, and when the Academy becomes a more important plotline later in the season, the training sessions will expand to include other people.
Regarding the scrying - since the sisters were trying out mobile scrying for the first time (ie scrying away from the Manor) Phoebe scried once and then scried again to double-check the address. When the second scry address was different to the first, she was confused and tried again. That gave her another different address, and then another when she tried again. After four tries at scrying revealed four different addresses, she was naturally confused, until Prue was able to pinpoint one of the addresses as belonging to Troy (with the remaining three being the other board-members locations). I should probably include that in a later edit to avoid confusion.
I'm very happy you enjoyed the way the episode progressed, Lexi! I think having a mix between magic and mundane issues gives the episodes a nice balance. This balance is definitely in effect in future episodes!

Terry's review (I'll get through them all ) You know, you’re quite the expert at this. I love all the description you give us, it’s really awesomely done, and quite a high level of vocab always! And I’m only saying this after the first paragraph lol Ah, now we have to find out what it is he does that makes waves Wow, does that mist spirit take a different form with every person it possesses? Or only a leopard and it’s just a coincidence (coughs) Diego had that pendant… Actually I have now the theory that it might have been the pendant that summoned the spirit…? Hehe so much for coincidences Prue’s working with Geotech Aha! If only you knew who her ‘love interest’ was, Prue! Hehe Love how Piper noticed Phoebe’s “crush”, if we can call it that. Aha, books! Read, Phoebe, read hehe The man really takes his jobs seriously, managing to find books for her and such, really cool “It is often the smallest detail which opens our eyes, and in turn leads to the biggest discoveries.” Am I wrong in saying this is a comment from you too ? Hehe Darryl on the Phoebe chase Ah, Ryan… one of many mysteries… Oh no, Piper and Jackson… should have seen this coming >< Since HE’s the agent in my deranged mind, I say, “No Way!” -_- hehe Oh, since Geotech is doing an auction… I wonder if their items are stolen goods and that’s why Diego had to die? Again with Leo’s mistake we know nothing about, he :s I’m dying to know! Though I guess that word is of circumstance, eh? I have a little idea, having spoiled myself a little, but I’d rather keep my theory in case it’s too foolish Love how Phoebe negociates questions hehe and how the Man tries to make it up to her by “cheating” “A lightning bolt hurtling towards you is warning enough. And if you can't see it, you need to be able to feel it. You have more than just one sense you know, Phoebe. Use them all.” He does have a point indeed, what’s more, she’s a damn psychic lol aaaaaaaaaaaah! A name for Mystery Man! Damn about time “He doesn't look that great.” Mwahaha “She moves off as Ryan, hearing her speak, turns slightly so that his back is facing the direction Piper left. With a head tilt to the dance floor and holding Prue's hand, he smiles.” Are we jealous?? Or hiding our identity from the Whitelighter?? Sly little Prue though it might be considered a little dangerous to scry like that in the open, no? “A demon with red eyes. How many of those can there be?” wondered the same thing lol “Tell me again why we have to protect him? PHOEBE Don't look at me. I just get the visions - they don't come with a play-by-play commentary.” Ahaha! You’re really great at this, picturing a world that is not just black and white: look at those Vengeance Spirits: Though they do seem to be really bad since they kill humans, they’re only doing so by avenging wronged people. So they’re ending up doing good, ultimately. Why aren’t they just using Leo as their cosmic taxi? Oh, Arcas’s helping Pheebs yay! “ARCAS (deadpan) Not really seeing how that's a bad thing.” Hehe, just like Piper I like the Buffy touch of this episode, how the Vengeance Demon idea is explored in the same way: the spirits here can’t act unless they are specifically summoned or asked to ^^ I love how this episode turned out, Prue understanding Diego was the innocent in the end and her threatening the board members so they surrender to the police. Diego’s body vanishing, though, has me wonder. Maybe they should have seen his peaceful ghost rising instead and his body should have stayed there, ultimate proof that Troy and Co. were the murderers. Uh-huh, Darryl’s closing in on the girls! I so want to see his reaction, well, your version of it anyway Hahaha, she paid her dress with Prue’s credit card! Mwahahaha

Here is a review for episode 8! -Hmm, i wonder who Geotech is? What did Diego get himself into? I guess that is what this chapter is all about lol. -Hmmm, who is this Mist Spirit? A demon? A friend? I am intersted to see how this goes. -Okay, so Bucklands is in trouble? I guess that could be expected, antiques are a required taste and people arent really into antiques so it makes sense. As for Phoebe, I wonder why she has fallen for the man. It seems really...well Phoebe, if she falls for a demon lol. But hwo knows if he is really evil or not... -Books? I guess that is helpful on some level, but theory only works as well as if you apply it to practice. So I wonder how this will pan out, for I was wanting to see some action, but I guess that will come sooner or later lol. -Hmm, interesting that Darryl now meets Mr. Withers so long after his death. I wonder if he can piece two and two together or if he still thinks this is all mumbo jumbo. Also, I notice he doesn't speak to the sisters as much as in the series. it is interesting the difference, yet he doesnt ask them for help...I wonder when we will see this happen... -I like Prue at the auction house. She was a great historian, and great with artifacts, if she left Bucklands, she should have gone to a museum, much more interesting than her photo job in my opinion. Also, When will Ryan be brought out? Will he be vanquished? So many questions! -Leo is late again? I have a feeling that their relationship wont last the season at this point. I was not the biggest fan of Leo, but if he isn't willing to break a few rules to meet his girlfriend for lunch, then he isn't as in love with her as he was in the original Charmed. It is nice to see some difference, and I wouldn't mind to see someone else fill Leo's shoes, would be interesting to see. -I wonder what the big screw up was that Leo did. Was it a death? Was it a charge turned evil? I am interested to finally learn what it was. Maybe Leo strips his wings for Piper, then they can live together without conflict. -I liked the flashback from Leo's dog tags. Nice touch. Most people forget about it. I wonder how their relationship will turn out. -I remember Cole making a similar speech to Phoebe about the Source not giving her time outs. So nicely done there. I wonder how much more we will get to see about dear old "The Man" -I liked that training session. Very nicely done. I liked the description, the banter, and I am glad we get to finally know his name. Arcas. Doesnt sound human, so it does lead to demonic thoughts...but who knows who he is... -I am glad that leo finally showed up, I do feel bad for the middle sister, losing a boyfriend, sort of. I hope this night is full of fun! lol. -I wonder if Troy will go anything to Phoebe, or if he is nothing more than an angry businessman. Guess we shall find out! -I wonder what Diego had...To have him be possessed and to want to kill someone is something that isnt just done for nothing, especially by the supernatural. -I wonder if they will catch on if Ryan is evil, or if he is just too good to be true for Prue...he still interests me to see how this will all turn out... -That was in the knick of time to stop Diego, btu the demon still interests me...why him? -I wonder how Troy will handle having to admit to trying to have Diego killed. Also, the itching of him being identified as not a demon is interesting...what will happen?! -So that is how he admits it...He is such a coward, but truth is, people would do that in the real world, so nicely done. I find it really sad that it had to happen that way though. I wonder what this means will happen with the explaination of the Mist Spirit. -Ah, a veangeance spirit. Nice. I am being reminded by Veangeance demons in Buffy, btu those discriminate against men, except for one demon of course. lol. But oh well, I think that this was a cool concept you brought in, nice job. -I like Piper not wanting to save them. It shows that she is actually having thoughts, as opposed to the sisters just rushing to help someone. Reminds me of "How to Make a Quilt Out of Americans' When she wants to give up being a witch. So nice character build. -I really liked the fight scene with Arcas and Diego. Very cool. I wonder when Arcas will be revealed in more of his work... -That was a good scene with Diego, and how he saved himself. That was nice. I wonder if Prue will turn them into the police, or if they will do it themselves...interesting...again lol. -Prue's epeech was good. Though Prue would never do it, it is a nice threat haha. -Haha, I like the little sisterly moment in the kitchen. Nice to see that again . -Wow...I wonder if Darryl will try to bust the sisters and expose them. it would be a cool season finale like season 3 or 7. I can't wait to see how it turns out... Great episode! Can't wait to read 9!

Episode 8 review I like the title of this episode " Corporate Malfeasance," this makes me assume that it will be about Madame Executive. I like the start of it so far.. Its very interesting, amusing. scene 2- I feel so bad for Diego, he didnt deserve that death. He did nothing, he probably didnt even see it coming. Poor guy. scene 3- Who's Troy?, I wonder if he is working under Madame Executive or not. It would be cool to see another demon group try to challenge the strengths of Madame Executive. scene 4- I like the Mist, very cool. I find she seems totally legit. Almost like a heaven savior. I like that style. Hey she saved the guy and repaid the demon so its all good. scene 5- I love how Prue has so much confidence in Phoebe's love life. Another thing I noticed is why doesnt Prue let Piper comfert her?. Everytime Piper attempts to, Prue just says " Nice try." In a way that Piper could never have helped. scene 6- You've got to be kidding me!! Books. I thought they would start straight up with the trainning. Whats that about anyways. I thought your powers come from your emotions. How will books help her with her emotions?. Another thing too, The man is becoming ever more intelligent. What he's doing on the side of evil does not right a bell for me. scene 7 - Why is it everytime something happens the cops always end up searching the scene. What is there part in this?. scene 8- HAHA!! Darryl's like " What the Hell?" I like that. He's always caught up in the magic. Its almost as if he is magical at this point he's scene it all. Even as a cop. scene 9 - How sweet, What a shocker though that Piper arrived conincidentally right after Ryan. The two end up meeting and avoiding each other at the scene. As Ryan is clearly trying to be nice but Piper seems busy all the time. scene 10- I wonder if Piper / Jackson would make a good couple. If he would use her or take advantage of her like Leo does so often. scene 11- Lol! Is Troy hitting on Prue? Also can you explain more briefly who he is I forget. scene 12- Diego is definetly creepy.. scene 13- I seriously feel like punching Balus in the face. He is so demanding and clearly Leo doesnt want to tell him so why wont he just let it go?. He is keeping Leo from Piper. , What hapenned ten months ago? scene 14- I love his training tactics. Different from others, unexpected yet it gets the job done. Very different.. I found Phoebe's power amazingly cool how she intercepted the attack by using her senses. The ones she didnt know she had. scene 15- Poor Phoebe, Why didnt she bring Axcarus or whatever his name is to the dance?. I dont fancy his name too much though. What made you choose that name?. scene 16- I see Leo / Piper's magic moment has been brought to an end. Too bad.. scene 17- I wonder If Ryan notices he is being freezed. I mean after when he awakens and see's the girls are not there. I mean he's not stupid. scene 18- What is this? Prue is so organised and prepared. I would not have expected that. However if they had not had the crystal / map how would they be able to locate the innocent? curious. scene 19- I love it how Prue feels so connected with Ryan there's no trust issue. She can tell him things and vice versa. scene 20- I really expected Diego to heal himself or kick more of a punch. Lol unfreeze freeze. It was like a game he was playing with Piper. Original but Charmed like. It suited this season. scene 21- Im not entirely sure what hapenned? did Diego kill an innocent in a picture just by touching the picture?. scene 22- Lol!! Leo has no concern for the innocent. He knows by now Piper is already aggitated with him. scene 23- I like this chapter, no matter how long it shows a point that the sisters can figure it all out if they work together. I must imagine how hard it is to have to deal with action on a timelimit and try to stressfully explain to an innocent how crucial there understanding of the situation needs to be. scene 24- Damn! Demons must really hate Piper's powers. I know I would If I were trying to kill someone and couldnt move a step. scene 25- What an ackward scene. The guy must be so speechless. I find Diego has a cool power, and it was fast thinking that Arcas did. Nice! scene 26- Prue is in such a rush. She doesnt even tell her sisters.. This is bad. scene 27- I wanted to know do you come up with all the spells yourself? I like them very much. Also it was very lucky the sisters chose that moment to appear. Prue would have had to make a plane B. scene 28- Prue is so serious. I think she is going to far, but I understand that she must. It is the means necessary to get across to these murderers. its the only way, and they need to know what they did was wrong. scene 29- I dont think Prue would really have done it though, she has too much of a good heart. Was she really bluffing though? was that your intent. On some level I felt like she said that speech whole heartedly. scene 30- nice ending!! It is a different ending. Makes you think of what Darryl is hiding.

Soooo that essay isn’t quite halfway done… but I figured that, if seven pages is more than halfway to ten pages, then technically, I’m more than halfway to being halfway done. And that seemed like progress enough for me . Niiiice, haha. I’m such a sucker for the villainous one/two liners. I freaking love shapeshifting. I know there’s bound to be a more detailed, accurate description of what Diego is doing to come, but just the fact that he morphed into an awesome big cat is enough to do it for me. Yessssssss. Oh early season, hormone driven, boy loving Phoebe. She would be the one to turn on the shameless flirtation during a training session, lol. Gotta love that girl. I’m still wary about her and the man though. I can’t approve until I know more. Although, I suppose if the two of them DO work out, then Phoebe will find a friend in Piper when it comes to bitching about their disappearing men. …. You know, I USED to like this guy, lol. The two of them need to cool it. I knew that fake business card would come back to bite them. At the time, I was expecting one of them to be sneaky enough to steal it back. Man! From what I’m recalling, Darryl hasn’t actually interacted with the girls since that scene in one of the first couple episodes where he had that short conversation with Prue. I’m wondering if he’s going to continue quietly collecting pieces of the puzzle, or if this is going to be enough for him to charge in, figurative guns blazing. He obviously still cares a great deal for the sisters – given how close he’s keeping his hand and the way he slipped the card into his pocket – so I’m not worried about him pulling a Sheridan (gag), but the girls are going to have to work at being careful and keeping exposure to a minimum. Alright. I HAVE been catching all these little “moments” between Piper/Jackson, and I’ve been ignoring them and moving on really quickly, telling myself that I’m reading too far into a nice, rando character. But I’m not. Am I? He BETTER be the agent. I don’t need any Dans or Gregs putting themselves between my favourite couple. Dan? Greg? Jackson? All perfectly nice guys (maybe… verdict is still out on Jackson… and by Dan, I only mean before he got all Leo-obsessed and crazy… but this is all besides the point) but they aren’t Leo. I will riot. I will RIOT. Well… maybe “riot” is a (slight) overstatement, but I will rant and rave until my poor, keyboard blistered fingers fall off. Leo needs to get it in gear and show up for a date before all hell breaks loose. I get that it’s not his fault, but come on!! ONE date! Just show up man! Ouch. Okay, it’s one thing for me to be agitated and yelling at Leo. It’s another thing for Balus to be doing it. Why are that guy’s panties always in such a bunch? Leave Leo alone. I can’t wait until the events of ten months ago are revealed. Only to me though, and maybe to Piper. Balus doesn’t deserve to know anything about anything. Not when he’s going to talk to people like that. I feel like he just might be the new Odin for me. Can I just say, I’m absolutely ecstatic that you have the dogtags hanging on her dresser. We saw them in Love Hurts, and then (to my knowledge… although correct me if I’m wrong, since sometimes I miss things) they were never seen or heard from again. I loved that image of her fingering them just after he orbed out, and I was a little disappointed when they never reappeared. So big, BIG yay on that front. I know they can’t be mentioned every episode or anything like that, and I would never expect something so ridiculous, but just knowing that they’re in her bedroom and within her sight and not forgotten, makes me very, very, very happy. Hahaha; I really like Phoebe’s quip about getting tired of calling him, ‘Purple robed guy.’ I was getting a little sick of it too. And I think this is the first episode I managed to refer to him as just “man” instead of “purple robed man,” so I’m ready for a name! I’m also very relieved to see he knows his stuff… not that I ever really doubted that he did, he’s clearly very smart, but Phoebe is very good at being distracting when she wants to be, lol. And because it seemed like she would very much like to be her distracting self with the guy, I was half expecting them to get way off course. Most poignant line so far. I loved it. I can’t even…. Sigh. Beautiful. Troy is a skeez. I suppose no one actually deserves to get mauled by a leopard, but he’s pushing it. “Enchante.” Pfffft. Most lame, obnoxious little expression ever. It’s one of my pet peeves, lol. I’m aware it’s a really odd thing to be so annoyed by, but… ugh. I feel my frequent agreement with Piper over certain people pretty much getting what they have coming to them, is testament to a lack of soul of some sort. I don’t even blame Diego for going on a killing spree. It’s like The Crow, lol. But fine; if Piper can concede to Prue’s logic, so can I . Awww Piper and Leo on a stakeout. Too cute. I’m a little miffed Fisher had to make his appearance just when they were getting down to talking though. Bad guys and their timing. Sheesh. Sex would be great, but at this point, I’d be willing to settle for a finished conversation between the two of them. Thumbs up to that. I was really touched (and sufficiently chastised) by Prue’s speech up in the offices. If the whole battle was about saving Diego, it takes on a whole new nobility that makes me feel pretty petty for being all gung-ho and (not so secretly) hoping he got to at least ONE MORE of them before the sisters could stop him. Very well done. And Prue is friggen scary when she’s all incensed the way she was against Troy. “If we choose, we can call down fire from the sky to burn you where you stand.” Nice, Prue. CRAZY powerful stuff. I think I enjoyed Prue’s little “shrinking” comment even more than Phoebe did . Awesome. And Darryl’s private investigation continues. Dun dun dun. I really enjoyed this episode. I feel like that statement, and my declarations of love for Ryan, are literally an episodely exclamation, but I swear, I mean it every time . And, I can rest easy in the knowledge that, even if I haven’t managed to make it halfway through my essay so far tonight, I have managed to make it halfway through your series ;D. I take my victories where I can find them.
