I decided to write a story about a half gypsy/ half witch and I need a bit of help with different things about gypsy magic. Anything will help.

Have you tried the Charmed Wiki? Google? I suggest you get your research in order and then we'll gladly help you figure out the kinks.

I believe magical gypsies are to gypsies what witches are to normal people. In other terms, I believe they're just witches -- with another name because they believe in other gods and come from another place. It is clear they can brew potions and cast spells like your every-day witch (The Eyes Have It). Maybe the only difference is that individuals do not have their own powers? Aside from the High Priestess who possesses the Evil Eye, Waffediyok. Or maybe some do but Ava did not because she was next in line for that title. Yeah, probably, since Madame Theresa had the power of precognition. So yeah, gypsies are nomad witches IMHO, anyway. Maybe, as a people of nomads, their powers are more closely related to the elements which surround them in their travels: earth, water, etc.? Edit: Hum. This probably all came out wrong. In no way did I mean that the story wasn't worth writing -- I was only saying what I remember the show "clarified". But there's so much you can write on that it most certainly is worth it. You can write about their beliefs, their lore, and you know, you can even give your own twist to exactly what a gypsy is, since the show didn't elaborate

That's just what I was thinking. It's more of a cultural thing than a different breed of magical creatures. So perhaps in your story, you could have her figure out the cultural differences in magic?

okay thanks for the ideas. I thought they were a different breed, but I guess like Lydia said that witches and gypsies come from sister traditions so I'm guessing maybe for example : two sisters one follows the wiccan reed and the other gets in touch with nature, does that sound about right?

It's your fic, your call on how you'd like to tackle the story/characters.
