Great episode, just what we all needed in my opinion. The character who interested me the most was actually Tara, she has had such a hard life, and just when someone shows true affection for her, he gets killed. And really, this is Tara we are talking about; the rude, not-caring, outspoken bitch. I was expecting a reaction like the one we got. Who remembers in episode one where she was rude to that fat ginger lady? Yeah, well that was on a good day. Her boyfriend was just shot (very mysteriously) so her reaction was just, or just considering who she is.
Sam bored the crap out of me. Of course, the attraction to Bill was funny, and I wonder if Lafayette is attracted to Eric, seeing as he drank his blood.. Probably is. I hope this storyline starts and ends fast, because his search isn't proving all that interesting.
Eric/Pam/Queen. Nothing to add, I thought they were all brilliant. I especially loved when Pam said to Lafayette "Why do people think I care about their problems. Is it because I smile too much, or is it because of all the pink?" (Or something along those lines.) Oh and I loved how they all crept around the Magister, it showed who was in charge.
I can't stand Tara's mum anymore. I hope she turns into a drunk again. I agree with everything that has been said about Bill, and I'm really liking the Werewolves, they seem really interesing. I didn't even notice the silver, it might have fell off during the crash.
Jessica was amazing. I loved the start scene where she dragged the body inside and I have a feeling she's going to put the body into the car wreck. Loved the shiver-comunicating aswell.
So I started reading the fist SS book. It's good, not as good as the actual series, but it is quite good. I think that it lacks input from the other characters, for example I missed seeing Tara, Jessica, Bill, Jason and all the other characters' drama, which is what makes the series great. Oh, and I'll never be able to read it again. I left it in the sun for about 30 minutes, and it fell to pieces.

I have to go, but I thought i'd say this. In Season 2, Sookie talks to Lafayette about having sex dreams about Eric, and Lafayette goes something like "I do too! And it freaks me the fcuk out because I HATES that mother fcuker." or something like that. So yes, he is, in fact, attracted to Eric, but thats not as interesting, because everyone already knew how gay he was. Ha.

Yes, he is very gay and it seems that so is Pam. Kristin Bauer van Straten has actually been promoted to series regular, and according to tvfanatic we'll be finding out a lot more about our beloved character. As many of you know, Pam is my favourite character and when I read that she was becoming a series regular I thought it was great.
And apparently, not only Pam's sexuality will be explored but all the characters will be discovering things about themselves. The funny thing about Pam is that she wasn't in the books (well she was, but she was in like half a page) and it's amazing what they've actually done with her. Actually it's amazing what they have done with all of the characters, they are so much deeper in the series.

I don't really know what the discussion is going on in here, because I only started watching True Blood yesterday so I scrolled past all the comments because I don't want any spoilers.
I have to say, I have hated this whole Twilight vampire "omg edward bite my neck because I'm so alternative" attitude that's been going around and it is because of Twilight that I have put off watching True Blood. I just didn't think I could handle another Vampire-Human Romance. But from the first episode of season one I am absolutely hooked!
I'm already on episode 8 (which is kind of sad because that's 8 hours of my life gone in two days...) and I am seriously loving the story. It's a lot darker and it's a lot more sexual than I thought it would be. I love the fact that Sooki is telepathic. It's a nice twist to an otherwise quite plain jane character. The brother, Jason, is dreamy and I'm really liking Bill. I was afraid he was going to be some Edward knock off, but I'm glad to see no twilight similarities in this show. I just can't handle that crap.
So anyway guys, what do I have to look forward to? The the seasons get a lot better as they go on?

Glad you are enjoying it, and don't worry I raced through them in about four days when I first started watching Season two is an odd one. Some people liked it, some said it wasn't as good as the first. Personally I really enjoyed it. There were a few times when the story did seem a bit stretched out, but season two has everything season one had and more. It's a lot of fun, the main villain is very camp and over the top but also at times a bit scary. The darkness is still there, as is the slight tongue-in-cheek vibe. It does get really good towards the end though and the last five or six episodes are really good.

I'd say there are quite a few Twilight similarities. None of the crap stuff though, that all came from Meyer's vivid immagination. The shape shifting best friend who's secretly in love with the main character, the relationship started because one couldn't read the other one's mind, the vampire seperate goverment and other things. But True Blood is far better than Twilight, and seeing as the Sookie Stackhouse series released before the Sparkly vampire one, that makes Twilight the rip off. I too went through the episodes really fast, mostly because of the amazing cliff-hangers.

Yeah, I see the similarities now. But like you said, thank god there is none of the crap ones!
And I know what you guys mean about the cliffhangers! I always watch an episode or two and then the last few seconds is like BAM! cliffhanger and I'm just like, well I guess now I have to watch the next one...

How Twilight WorksYou should check that out. Never read it, but from the FB reactions I see everything something Twilight comes out (and I'm not talking about Edward Cullen, but that'd be the day), I completely believe it. Moving on, which episode are you at, Karla? S1 has a really tight plot, while S2 gets a bit... looser, in more ways than one (if you catch my drift). But S2 introduces a shitload of mythology, and if you enjoy your supernatural know-how and ongoings, you'll enjoy the season. And I don't really blame you. I finished the two seasons over a weekend and was left wanting more. Oh, also, Karla, do you want us to yell "Spoiler" before we review new episodes each week?

I finally understand why 500 pages of utter bullsh*t is so popular. The video made me lmao too. Season one was based solely on the first book. One chapter was one episode, so yeah, they had to flesh it out a bit and I think that they did that greatly. I'm not sure if season two was based on the second book though. Whilst ordering my copy of Charmed #0 I stumbled across some True Blood merchandise, which is so damn awesome. Did anyone here know that you can actually buy a bottle of Tru Blood? I'm so buying one! Oh yeah, why is the drink called 'Tru blood' but the show is called 'True Blood'?

Hahaha. That link is brilliant! It is actually exactly what Twilight is about... I just finished episode 9 about two minutes ago, and am now swiftly moving onto number 10. The plot is very good in the first series. I like that the show kind of knows where it's going and sticking to it. For example the whole Sam shapeshifting thing. The dog was introduced in the first or second episode and Sooki specifically said "he hangs around the bar a lot" or something. It just shows how all the little plots and stuff where planned from the beginning. I have always loved anything mythological whether it was greek or fantasy so I'm really going to look forward to the Second Season, but the whole loose plot might be a bit disappointing for me. Oh, and as for the spoiler thing. You guys don't have to put spoiler tags or anything in, but the occasional "SPOILER" would be greatly appreciated As unlike many shows, I do watch this for the plot and not the dreamy actors. Although they don't hurt... Edit: Just saw PJ's post. I want me some Tru Blood too... And I don't know why they left the "e" in True Blood and not Tru Blood. But I am glad they did, because a show name with a spelling error would just annoy the crap out of me.

Oh yeah, why is the drink called 'Tru blood' but the show is called 'True Blood'? I got some on Monday and the bottle is very cool. The taste is very sweet, they say on the bottle it's orange flavour but it had a similar taste to those energy drinks you can get. But it's red and when you pour it into a glass and let it settle it actually looks like blood. I cost me about £5 but it was worth it for a fun one off kind of thing.

Hate to be off-topic in here, but just thought I'd ask because we're all Graphic Makers and True Blood fans.
Any idea where I can get some HQ Screenshots or Promo's? Been looking for a while and can't find much.

I envy you right now. Did you buy it online? Yeah it's available on a few online sites, I got it from Play.com. It came in this huge box, the bottle itself is about 15cm tall but the box was very well stuffed to make sure it didn't smash. And although I have had nicer drinks I really want another bottle. I think I might be sad and wait until the finale Hate to be off-topic in here, but just thought I'd ask because we're all Graphic Makers and True Blood fans. Thanks, David. And did you just buy one bottle of the drink? Or did it come in like a 6 pack, like in the show. I really want some now

Thanks, David. And did you just buy one bottle of the drink? Or did it come in like a 6 pack, like in the show. I really want some now No it was a single bottle, I have seen four packs on the HBO store and in Forbidden Planet but I only got the single. Going back to what PJ said Yeah season two is based on the second book, but only loosely they change a lot of the plot, and I mean a lot. Things are a lot more complex on the show and because the books are only from Sookie's perspective certain things they can take a lot of liberties with. So far the plan is to base each season around that book but they have started to draw from future books as well as coming up with their own stuff.

I have swiftly moved from Season One to Season Two (and ruined half of the season for myself by looking at stupid episode stills for graphics!), but I have to say I am not enjoying this season as much. I just finished episode 5 and
I HATE that freaking shape-shifting kind of woman. You know the one who just makes everyone have sex? I just find her whole story with Sam really boring. And Tara and Eggs are really boring me as well. I hope this whole creature scratching crazy humping story ends soon.
I am liking Sooki's story though, and I like watching her and Bill's relationship progress somewhat. Although their relationship basically consists of talk, fight, make-up sex, talk, fight, make-up sex and occasional Sooki near death thrown in. It gets a little boring. Does anyone else think so? I hope Season 2 gets a little better, because I am a little dissapointed right now.

The Bill/Sookie charm wore off at around the end of S1 after he gets himself burnt to save her or whatever. As for Maryann, I found her backstory interesting. Tara and Eggs are boring, and I really hate how Tara brings Maryann into Sookie's house and just stays there. I just find that stupid, regardless of the influence. . I think the interesting part in S2 is yet to come for you, Karla. And I just love the Jessica and Hoyt thing in this season.

I have gotten to that bit in the spoiler tag, and it irritates the crap out of me. Why on earth would Tara do something like that? Let that stupid Maryann move into someone elses house that she is a guest in herself. I can't wait to finish this season so Maryann is gone. Please tell me she isn't in season 3? I think I'll cry? Oh I do love the Jessica Hoyt thing as well. She was funny at the start, then got a bit irritating, but now Jessica is kind of growing on me. I'm glad you said that the interesting part is yet to come, because right now, I am only watching it for the Sooki's journey to Dallas. Other than that it's a bit of a snoozefest this Season 2...

Has anyone caught the latest episode?
I found it boring, to be honest. There wasn't much momentum, other than the Bill/King scenes in the beginning, and that was probably because of the music. I cringed when Sookie cried when Jason mentioned Bill. Seriously, Anna Paquin, that was almost like Kaley Cuoco's Billie weep in the Charmed finale.
Jessica's story was also sort of bland, I expected more to come out of the conversation she had with Pam. I wonder where the body went though.
I do like the new vamp, and I think either him or Bill was the traitor in Operation Werewolf. Oh, speaking of vamps, Talbot: annoys the shit out of me. It's his character on the whole. And does he know his partner wants to marry Sophie-Anne in order to usurp her queendom? It's the marrying part that I wonder why he's not worried about. And good luck to the King with that, seeing as both him and her play for the other team.
I think I know why Bill had all of those pictures of Sookie. I thought they would go down a different path on the show, but oh well.
And who else started clapping when Bill set Lorena on fire? Burn bitch, burn!
Jason's scenes were funny again, and yay! Crystal. Also, Sam's family was sorta different from what I expected them to be, and I don't believe that Joe Lee is his real father, nor do I believe he's not a shifter, or the kind accepting man he appears to be. I enjoyed the sibling rivalry between Tommy and Sam, it was kinda funny watching dogs running through the woods and onto the highway to get the other hit. Oh, btw, has Sam ever shifted from one form to another without reverting to human first?
As for Eric and Sookie, I don't think the scenes had that strong an effect on me, especially the emotional ones. I think Anna was really low on her acting in this one. Also, that final scene, did anyone think it was a bad cut when they switched to Sookie firing the gun?
I think this episode was directed really badly.
EDIT: Forgot to say, I liked the actress they chose to play Lafayette's mom. She bore a striking resemblence to Tara's mother, and delivered the lines similarly. And also "Jesus", haha.
