Rtm #3: Graphic Art Contest

Graphic Art Contest
True Love...

Throughout the years of our beloved show, the Charmed Ones had many relationships. But each of them only had one true love...

Objective: Your task is to create a work of art, outside of videos, that focuses on the relationship with one sister's true love. Choose one sister (Prue, Piper, Phoebe, or Paige) and for that sister choose the man that you believe was their true love. It does not have to align with whom the show deemed to be their true love. For example: The show had Phoebe end up with Coop. It is my belief that her one and true love was Cole, so my artwork would center around the two of them.

What you must do is portray in your artwork why you loved this relationship. Was it Piper and Leo's ability to overcome all obstacles to be together? Was it the raw excitement of Phoebe and Cole's firey relationship? Is there one particular moment that brings a smile to your face, which leaves no doubt in your mind that these two were meant to be together? Show us that in your artwork. We do want to be able to see/feel what you are trying to portray in the artwork alone, but feel free to write a description to go along with your entry as to what you were trying to accomplish/convey.

Size:[/u] There is no size requirement, except that we request it be at least bigger than the average signature banner and we do not want any avatars/icons.

You can ask any questions you have relating to this contest in the General Discussion thread. After 24 hours have passed, that is once Valentine’s Day is over, questions will no longer be answered, and you will then have five days to complete the task.

The due date has been extended through Sunday, the 21st. I realized that with school and work during the week, not everyone would have been able to make an entry. So if you haven't, make one over the weekend and send it in.

I am very disappointed with how this contest turned out. We came up with a fun idea, something different that allowed you to be quite creative. We gave an ample amount of time to make an entry and send it in, actually giving a couple extra days. And what happens? We ended up receiving one entry. All of us admins are disappointed, because you all ask for more RTMs, you ask for contests, but when we give them, barely anyone participates. Next time, we'll be trying another show. Maybe that will get more people to join in. We'll see.

For the one person who did enter, Active Engaged, you win by default. However, I may have voted for your entry anyway. I think it's fantastic. Here it is for all to see.

I actually had the same type of idea in my head when I was thinking up this contest; Cole being able to shine through the evil of the Source at several points. I love the title, I love the flames, I love how Cole is wearing white to symbolize his purity, I love the lighting. Also, that manip you did is near perfect. I've only seen one other person who has been able to take that photo of Alyssa and Jason Lewis and believably manip someone else's head onto his body. One thing I'm unsure of is the faded picture of Phoebe and Cole from "Hell Hath No Fury." It just seems odd to have it there and I'm not sure it fits. But other than that, I love this piece. Great job. ;D And thank you for entering.

Really nice entry AE! Shame there wasn't any other entries.
I did actually want to make something, but I didn't have time to get around to doing one and I usually like entering the RtM graphic contests.

Thanks Nerf for your kind comments, I didn't even notice the white-shirt-purity thing, but you were spot on about the rest. Also, Cole is a little darker than Phoebe symbolizing that he is.. well, darker, more evil than Phoebe. I just really liked that shot from HHNF.

Hmm. Dissapointing outcome, if I'm honest. I was gonna enter but when I opened up Photoshop, I had absolutely no inspiration at all.

Anyway, nice job PJ. Looks great. Not too keen on the text, though. I like the actual words, just not the text in general. Other than that, nice work. Kudos on the manip, too.

Oh dammit, I was suppose to enter this, but I was away from the computer when I got the reminder, so I completely forgot about it until tonight. I'm actually very shocked and disappointed to see that there was only a single entry, however, PJ, your entry looks very nice. My only criticism would be on the centered, blocked-shaped spacing on the text, I think something a little less rectangular would've been a lot more creative. But other than that, the manipulation looks beautiful, lovely choice of a couple.
