Here is where you check for questions that are asked a lot. Check if you question is here, if not PM one of the Elders or post a topic in the Magic School Thread.

Registering at Shadow Tales:
If you want to share in on the discussions on the board you will have to register for free and become a member. It's very easy to do: Just click register, fill in your information and follow the instructions that follow and before you know it you can post your little heart out.
When you are asked for a username, you will have to fill it in in small caps but you can change it once you are on the board.
Rest assured that any information you supply will remain private.

Ranks:
As you reach certain post counts you'll receive a new rank. Here is the explanation of the ranks:
Innocent - 0 posts - No triquetras
Future Whitelighter - 50 posts -
Warlock - 100 posts -
Witch - 500 posts -
Darklighter - 1000 posts -
Whitelighter - 2000 posts -
Upper Level Demon - 3000 posts -
The Source - 4000 posts -

Hyperlinking:
IMPORTANT: With Proboard you do not place "" in the hyperlinks like so: [*url="LINK"]NAME[*/url] you would write it like this: [*url=LINK]NAME[*/url] (remove *)
Adding a hyperlink to your posts is easy and here you can see the different types of hyperlinking you can use. The hyperlink button:
To create a regular URL link: [*url]your chosen URL here![*/url] (remove *)
To add the URL to a word and not see the address:
[*url=add url here]TEXT[*/url]
This is what it will look like: [*url=http://shadowtales.proboards62.com]Shadow Tales[*/url]
Remove the stars and then you'll get: Shadow Tales
Make clickable images
Here you combine the [*url=LINK]description[*/url] and the [*img]description [*/img]
This is what it will look like: [*url=link to the site][*img]link of the picture[/*img][*/url]
For example:
[*url=http://shadowtales.proboards62.com][*img] gemini.galacgallery.com/shadowtales/albums/userpics/10001/header-v-smaller.jpg[/*img][*/url]
Output with * removed:
When you click on the picture you'll get to the link.

Formatting text
Fonts:
TYPES:
There are no limits to what font you may use. Just make sure to write the font out correctly. If you want your text to be a different font, highlight the desired text and then press this
It will then it will place this around your text:

These are the colours you can choose from for your texts:
To the left is the code (remove the *) and to the right is the outcome:

There are three other font effects that work the same way as those above. Glow (you can change the colour effects there), Shadow and Marquee.

Editing Posts:
You can edit your already posted comment by simply clicking on the "Edit/Modify" button in the top right corner of your post or you can delete is completely.

Search function:
Consider it your new best friend. This function helps you find what you are looking for in a snap and you can also see if a thread you want to start already exists. You can find the search button in the main menu up top.

Editing Profiles:
This is where you change any of your personal information. You can access your profile by clicking "Profile" in the main menu up to. The once you are in your profile, click Modify Profile, modify what you have to, scroll down and click "Modify".
