CHARMED: No Fate (Season Three)
Alternate Charmed Season Five and Six
Story Arc One: Out with the Old Threat and In with a New
3x01: Birthday Girls – Originally 6x16: The Courtship of Wyatt’s FatherTime has passed and it’s time to celebrate Christmas again, which also means that it’s time to celebrate Meli’s first birthday, so the sisters give her a party. But as often happens when you are a Halliwell, things don’t go as planned and Meli’s birthday party is crashed by a family of innocents, whose two-year-old's birthday "present" is demon attacks. The family has to help the little girl, and for the first time Meli and KitKat help save an innocent.
3x02: Nightmare on Prescott Street – Original EpisodeThere’s a knock on the Manor door and Prue is shocked to see Bane Jessup. He’s escaped from prison again, but for a very special reason. The inmates at the prison are all having nightmares that are leading them to act out the nightmares, and Bane is certain that there’s a demon behind it. He’s right – when the Charmed Ones look up the demon in the Book of Shadows, they find that it’s Lilith, the Demon of Nightmares. Although they first have to decide if inmates can be innocents, the Charmed Ones must figure out how to vanquish the demon without succumbing to her powers themselves. Then Prue has to tell Bane good-bye again as Darryl returns him to prison. To top it off, she has to explain to Mitch why she appears to be so close to a felon.
3x03: Lazarus the Games Begin – Originally 4x15: Marry Go RoundSomething is going on - No sooner do the Charmed Ones save an innocent from one demon than Paige gets a premonition of
another innocent in danger from a
different demon. This sounds too much like what happened to Phoebe, and has Prue and Piper frightened. They’re certain that after a hiatus for some reason or another, the Source is once more determined to end the Charmed Ones.
First up is the Lazarus demon - if he buries one of his victims before the Charmed Ones can bury him, the innocent will die, and vanquishing
him is easy compared to the other ones.. This continues throughout the entire episode so that by the end, Paige is totally exhausted from all of the premonitions - almost leading to the death of the last innocent - except the innocent is saved by Leo and Cole.
3x04: Know Thine Enemy – New EpisodeAfter doing some snooping in the Underworld, Cole has discovered that the Demonic Council is no longer advising the Source of All Evil, and instead the Source has a new advisor – a woman cloaked in black, who seems determined to end the Charmed Ones. With this knowledge, the Charmed Ones make plans to vanquish both of them.
This is also the episode when we introduce the true Big Bad of our series, the Seer. Just like always, she's a background interferer, who knows much more than she is telling anyone and never explains what she is doing to anyone. While she is the power behind the throne, the Seer knows the one sitting on the throne will always be the target.
We find the Seer in her own lair where she uncloaks herself and we hope our audience will be very shocked to discover that they have already seen the Seer in our Season One. She’s not the Seer from the original Charmedverse, but instead is actually Ruth Cobb, the same one who back in 1650 tried to turn James Warren’s seed evil, so that his line would be evil. In flashback form we find that Ruth planned on kidnapping their baby daughter Melinda so she could raise her evil, but then Ruth had a vision, one of her raising a different child of the Halliwell line.
Ruth’s vision showed her that the child's father will be the evil half-warlock/half-demon, Zankou. Her vision also showed her that were this child to be conceived on a special day that combines both evil magic and good magic, one that only comes around once every 300 years, and were
this child to be raised evil, the child would be the prophesied Twice-Cursed Child, the greatest power for evil the world has ever known, and stronger than any of the individual Charmed Ones. And were the Twice-Cursed Child to murder a Charmed One, especially the child’s own mother and especially on a day of powerful evil, 20 years later, Evil would certainly win the battle between Good and Evil because then together Ruth and that child would be even stronger than the Power of Three itself.
Since demons are always trying to get rid of each other in order to rise in the chain of power, we next see that Ruth was afraid that Zankou would be killed before she'd need him, so she first used her power of visions to become the Seer to the Source and then talked him into locking Zankou up in a special magical cage. Since then, she has remained in the background, even allowing the Demonic Council to think that they were the Source’s main advisors when it has always been her.
Years later, when Charlotte and James' daughter Melinda was burnt at the stake and she made her prediction, the Seer had another vision showing her that the mother of the Twice-Cursed Child would be the oldest and most powerful of these Charmed Ones.
Cole knows none of this. All he knows for sure is that a woman cloaked in black is now giving advice to the Source, and although the Charmed Ones try to figure out who she is so they can vanquish her, they don't succeed. Unlike the original series, the Seer won’t make herself known to the Charmed Ones at all, not until the end of our series...
3x05: Insert Title Here – Originally 4x19: We're Off To See the WizardThe Charmed Ones battle the Source's most insidious demon - the Wizard. When he’s vanquished, the Charmed Ones think they have succeeded, but they’re not the ones who did it, although even the Source thinks they have. The only one who knows better is the Seer. Otherwise the episode is very similar to the original.
3x06: Once Bitten, Twice Evil – Originally 4x18: Bite MeIn a last-ditch, desperate moment to vanquish the Charmed Ones, the Source enlists the assistance of the vampires. However, the Vampire Queen has plans of her own. She wants Cole as her Vampire King. For the sake of the one who is still the baby of the family - even in Paige’s eyes - and also because they’re also starting to admire Cole for the way he’s been able to keep his evil half under control - the Charmed Ones risk their own lives and their own morality to save the man their baby sister loves.
3x07: Save the Last Vanquish – New EpisodeWhen the Source is finally vanquished, once more the Charmed Ones think they have done it - they haven't - it's been done by the
new Source - the Wizard - exactly what the Seer wants. She’s been making plans to begin the next stage of her plot, but the Source's siege on the Charmed Ones ended up with his demise and suddenly she can't release Zankou even though the time is right. So she helps the Wizard become the new Source just long enough so she can talk him into using his powers to release Zankou.
3x08: All Hail The New Source – New EpisodeThe Seer tells the newly-released Zankou about her visions, letting him think that he will be the one who raises his evil son, and by doing that and will also receive more power than he has ever imagined. She then suggests he becomes Zeke, the new bartender at P3: so that he can become close to the Charmed Ones, especially Prue, the future mother of the Twice-Cursed Child.
Not one to share the spotlight, he puts the Charmed Ones on the trail of the Wizard and they vanquish the Wizard, letting Zankou take over as the new Source of All Evil, just as the Seer has foreseen.
3x09: Is It Destiny's Fate or Fate's Destiny? – Originally 4x22: Witch Way Now?As a reward for vanquishing the Source of All Evil – twice - the Angel of Destiny offers the Charmed Ones a chance to relinquish their powers and lead normal lives, although this would also mean their children would not inherit their powers. He doesn’t let them know that this would stop the Seer's evil scheme,
Unlike the original Charmedverse, each sister is allowed her own choice, so that no one keeps or relinquishes their magic unwillingly, even though they all know that this would mean the end of the Charmed Ones.
Piper, with her new attitude, immediately says no. Even Leo thinks she should think about this, but Piper already knows where her destiny lies, and she doesn't want another. Part of her remains afraid that if she decides to give up her powers, THEY will take away Leo.
Paige, who is continuing to enjoy magic, also turns down the offer without hesitation, especially now that Jason has accepted her as a witch and is helping them protect innocents.
Prue, on the other hand, thinks back to all the things that came with magic, both good and bad, and thinks of the losses such as Patty and Andy and Phoebe, that she has gone through. This brings us some flashbacks of her with Andy and also flashbacks of the sisters' childhood with Patty. Prue's seriously considering giving up her magic.
Phoebe puts in her two cents worth via the spirit board and begins to convince Prue that being Charmed is truly their destiny, but Prue’s decision is clinched when they run into an innocent who needs saving. Prue knows she’d never be able to forgive herself if an innocent needed saving and she wouldn’t be able to help.
The Charmed Ones are still the Charmed Ones - now and always.
Story Arc Two: Little Changes Make Big Differences
3x10: The Power of Four -New EpisodePhoebe has been watching from the other side and she’s finally realized that one of her sisters is in huge danger. She uses the spirit board to contact them and tell them to use a summoning spell. The girls do and for the first time, almost two years since her death, Ghost Phoebe appears to her sisters. She lets them know how annoyed she is that they are once more trusting a demon they really can’t trust. Her sisters are shocked to think that Phoebe no longer trusts Cole when Cole has been so good, but Ghost Phoebe rolls her eyes. “Not Cole! Of course I know Cole can now be trusted. I mean someone else…”
Paige is the one who figures out who Ghost Phoebe means, because Paige has been getting very bad vibes from Zeke the bartender. Prue also had a very bad feeling about this new bartender who just won’t leave her alone even when she kept trying to convince him that she’s in love with Mitch. But Prue isn’t there.
Only the night before, Mitch let her know that he has been transferred to another precinct. Naturally he has no idea that Zankou is actually behind the transfer at the Seer’s suggestion, since the Seer was certain that even when Mitch again proposed to Prue, wanting her to go with him, she’d refused to leave her sisters in the lurch, and that’s exactly what has happened.
Now her sisters think that Prue is out on a project for 415, trying to lose herself in her work as she nurses her broken heart, but Ghost Phoebe warns Piper and Paige that with the aid of the Seer, Zeke, who is really Zankou, has used some powerful magic to trap Prue.
Although thanks to her warning, they succeed in freeing Prue, Zankou has managed to impregnate Prue on the special day of both great Evil and great Good. The Twice-Cursed Child is on his way!
At the same time that we see Zankou and Prue making love, we also see a young brown-haired green-eyed man step out of a triquetra-shaped portal. He looks around, trying to figure out where he is. He’s surprised to find himself in the back room at P3 and then is even more shocked when he first finds a newspaper showing the date.
At the end we hear Leo talking to Piper as they walk towards the back exit. We hear the young man say, "Mom? But you sound so young! And if that’s Mom, then that other voice must be….Dad? Oh! It’s before they’re released! My dad’s still alive!"
3x11: Happy Birthday, Dear Demon – Originally 5x12: Centennial CharmedThe Charmed Ones have tried to find and vanquish the demon who had Prue under his spell, but have not succeeded. Wanting to do something to take their minds off of what happened, Prue, Piper, Paige and Leo decide to hold a surprise party for Cole’s 100th birthday, something Piper discovered when checking through Phoebe’s diary
Even as they set up P3 for the party, Piper brings a fussy Meli into the back room, calling for Nanny, then returns to the nightclub, believing that her daughter’s elfin nanny is watching Meli. Instead, it's the young man we saw in the previous episode who loving watches the young child. Nanny can tell that this newcomer means her charge no harm and doesn't appear.
Suddenly a young blonde-haired, brown-eyed woman shows up. “Melinda!” cries the young man, while she responds with, “Perry Christopher! Finally! I didn’t think I’d ever find you!” Through the conversation, we come to realize that she is Meli, all grown-up, while the young man is her younger brother – named after their father’s parents – and who hasn’t even been conceived yet. We find out that Melinda used a potion and a spell to send her astral projection looking for Perry and she's finally found him.
She tells him that everyone is worried about why he didn’t come right back, and wants to know if he is all right. She also doesn’t realize how far in the past she is and is shocked to find out that the baby in the crib is her.
Then, at the direction of the Seer, Zankou sends through a wave that splits the world into an Outer Zone and an Inner Zone while he and the Seer watch. Because the wave went through at the same time that Paige was trying to orb Cole out so Cole wouldn’t ruin his birthday surprise, Paige is now in the Outer Zone and Cole is in the Inner Zone.
When Paige orbs back in, she is shocked to find P3 empty. She uses her cell phone to call Prue, but doesn't get a reply. She tries calling for Leo - no one comes back. Then she remembers about her ex-whitelighter and is surprised when Natalie shows up, acting as if she's been the family whitelighter for Paige's entire life. Paige is shocked to find out that Grams, Patty and Phoebe are all still alive – and when Phoebe sees Paige’s picture of Phoebe and Cole, she thinks he’s a lot hotter than her boyfriend Dan…and that Phoebe thinks she’s always just had one sister – her half-sister Paige...and that when Patty decided to keep Paige, Sam was recycled.
Meanwhile Cole is just as shocked to find Prue, Piper, Andy and Leo, who all refuse to believe that Cole’s a demon because Cole can’t shimmer – until Leo finds out that he can’t either. When Cole asks about Phoebe, no one knows who he’s talking about – not even Leo. They insist that they can’t be the Charmed Ones, because there has always only been the two of them – their mother never had another child and they have no idea who Sam is.
Zankou and the Seer knew all about this – just like the Seer knows that Cole and Paige will eventually fix things with the help of the others - but suddenly they find out something the Seer hadn’t known about - they see Perry and Melinda in the back room, along with the young girl.
Since it's only Melinda’ astral projection that's in this time period, she does remember everything and she's trying to figure out what is wrong with Perry. She tells him she is his sister. He tells her he doesn’t have a sister - the baby he is watching is his older cousin Patty – his Aunt Prue and Uncle Andy’s daughter!
To top it off, Zankou and the Seer later discover that in the Inner Zone, everyone but Cole knows about Perry, and they think he’s there to save Leo from the Titans! And just like them, Melinda is shocked to realize that Perry doesn't remember anything about his real mission.
Meanwhile in the Outer Zone, Paige gets a call on her cell phone from Prue – Prue has finally found the message that Paige left, helping those in the Inner Zone to finally believe Cole. When Paige finds out that Cole also remembers what happened, she asks to speak to him. They come up with a plan, but after she ends the call, Grams wants to know what she was doing talking to a demon...
3x12: Putting the World Back Together Again - New EpisodePaige explains about Cole to her grandmother, mother and half-sister, even as Piper brings Cole to the back to meet her son, and Perry finds himself promising Melinda that he won't give her away, despite the fact that he refuses to lie to his mother. Once Piper and Cole are gone, he insists that she tells him her whole story - the long version - having absolutely no idea that she's also telling that whole story to Zankou and the Seer - and the Seer knows exactly how to use that information - although we won’t hear the whole story until later.
Unknown to the sisters but seen by our viewers, when the time is right and the moon is full, the Charmed Ones and their friends are so busy fixing the problem that they don't realize that Zankou and the Seer are using the confusion to put Prue and Zankou's child into the Seer. The Seer is now pregnant with the prophesied Twice-Cursed Child. And now the Seer taps into the power of the child inside of her to vanquish the now-useless-to-her Zankou!
Once the two zones are put back together, no one but Paige and Cole remember what happened, although Paige has been able to keep a couple mementos - a picture showing Grams, Patty, Phoebe and her, which she gives to her sisters, and a letter from Phoebe that she keeps.
The Halliwells also give Cole a special birthday present - Phoebe's diary from the last year of her life, the year she knew him, - which he agrees is almost like having Phoebe back.
Although Cole remembers that Perry was in the backroom of P3, he doesn’t tell the others, amused to know something the others don’t. Instead he goes to the back room himself, lets Perry know that he knows who he is and suggests that Perry comes stay with him at his penthouse rather than at P3, an offer Perry gladly accepts since he’s become afraid that his parents or one of his aunts will catch him if he stays at P3.
Cole also suggests that he uses another name besides Perry – even though the fact that he’s a male will probably keep the sisters from guessing who he is, it may not stop Leo or THEM, especially since it starts with a P, and since THEY and Leo are the ones most likely to want to send Perry back home, Perry agrees.
Remembering how the sisters came up with the nickname Meli for Phoebe Melinda, Cole suggests the young man uses a nickname of his own middle name, and Perry Christopher, now known as Chris, agrees.
But before Chris can move in with Cole, he is orbed out by THEM and put into a waiting room, the same Heavenly Waiting Room where his parents were placed at the beginning of our series. Just like them, all he hears is a voice which speaks for all of THEM. THEY demand to know why THEY shouldn’t just send him back and what did he mean when he said he was there to save his father from the Titans.
So Chris warns THEM of the upcoming Titan attack and then he tells THEM the story of what lead him to this point as far as he knows it, while our viewers get to see what happened in the Unchanged Future, the events that led to Chris’ journey to the past....
3x13 The Future Can be a Scary Place, Part One – OU: 6x10: Chris-CrossedChris tells THEM that the day the Titans attacked both whitelighters and THEM, the Titans claimed two members of the Halliwell family. First, Leo was one of three whitelighters who were turned into a statue, while his life force was sucked out of him by one of the Titans, killing him that way, while also allowing the Titans to attack Up There and murder most of THEM.
Some of THOSE who survived showed up at the Manor, wanting to turn the three sisters into goddesses like had happened the first time the Titans attacked THEM, when THEY had later imprisioned them. Prue was not in the least bit happy about the idea of being a goddess, but THEY insisted that this was the only way to defeat the Titans, and Prue reluctantly agreed. Unlike the original, although Piper was still the Goddess of the Hearth, a very angry Prue became the Goddess of War, while Paige became the Love Goddess, which Jason didn't like, especially when she showed up at
The Bay Mirror's celebrity auction.
But while goddesses, Paige was still wounded by a Titan and without Leo’s help, Prue and Piper were unable to save her. As a result Prue and Piper had neither Paige nor Leo to help them, but ultimately the two oldest Charmed Ones were able to use their anger and their goddess powers to take down the Titans. Once this was done, Prue insisted that THEY take away these powers RIGHT NOW before the powers went to her head, and Piper totally agreed. Chris likes the idea of his aunt taking on THEM and insisting THEY take the powers away from her and his mom once they had defeated the Titans. This doesn't endear him to THEM, but it's the way he feels, since it was always his favorite part of the story, and he's always been taught to tell the truth.
And although Piper was devastated by the loss of Leo yet again, and both she and Prue were devastated by the death of their youngest sister, neither took it out on San Francisco, nor did Piper have a major pity-party - that’s just not this Piper - the world doesn't revolve around her.
Chris now tells THEM that so many of THEM and so many whitelighters were killed during the Titans' attack - the reason it was called The Day The Magic Died - that witches were no longer given whitelighters and had to manage on their own.
Without Paige, Prue and Piper no longer had the Power of Three, and this time there was no extra half-sibling to fill the void. Evil took over the world, including a new Source even worse than the earlier one, one who was able to take over Cole, who began to turn evil again. For the sake of their baby sister, Prue and Paige tried to save the man Phoebe had loved, but when Belthazor tried to kill Baby Meli, they were finally forced to vanquish him using the piece of flesh they'd kept in the freezer all this time.
It was only after they vanquished Cole, leaving behind only Prue, Piper and little Meli, that Piper gave birth to her son, Perry Christopher Wyatt – giving his father’s last name to him since the Halliwells were no longer as powerful as they once were - on an otherwise uneventful day. He decided to show up when Piper isn’t expecting him, so unlike Meli, he was not born in the Manor.
A number of years later, Prue was given a surprise. Thanks to his good behavior and some good word from Darryl who knew how he’d helped with the Demon of Nightmares, Bane Jessup had gotten out of jail early and came looking for the woman he still loved….Eventually he and Prue got married and had a daughter who Prue named Paige Andrea Jessup, but called Drea. Even though Piper never stopped trying to bring the stone statue of Leo that she kept up in the attic back to life, Bane was as close to a father as Meli and Perry ever had, especially when Victor died just a few years later.
3X14 The Future Can be a Scary Place, Part Two – New EpisodeMany years later, only a few months before he arrived in this time period, Perry was coming home from his job of managing his mother’s nightclub when he saw a warlock standing over the dead bodies of both his Aunt Prue and cousin Drea. Even as he stared in shock, he heard the warlock say, "Your family rejected me and now you're all going to pay for that mistake," and then he black-orbed out – he was a warlock with darklighter powers, totally opposite of Melinda and Perry who were witches with whitelighter powers.
Later that same day Melinda returned home from working with her Aunt Prue to find the stranger with a glowing hand against Bane’s chest. The stranger told Melinda that if she didn’t come with him and join him on the side of evil by using her powers for evil so they’d become warlock powers and darklighter powers just like his own - something that should be easy for her since she was born in the Manor and like her aunt Phoebe, would be easy to sway to the side of Evil - he would use his Hand of Death to kill Bane.
Melinda knew she couldn't join him, but try as she might, she could not find a way to save the man who had always been like her father, although she wasn't going to just give up her uncle without a fight. But at the first sign that she was trying something, the stranger used the Hand of Death to kill Bane. Before leaving the stranger swore that if Melinda didn't turn evil, her baby brother would be next...
The remaining living members of the family – Piper, Melinda, Perry and his wife Bianca - were in shock. From Melinda's story they realized that Perry was in the most danger. They decided to protect him by sending him into the past, so he could find out who the stranger really was and what he meant by what Perry had heard him say. They came up with a spell that would let him keep the whitelighter powers he had inherited from his father, while sending him back to a time where he could protect all other family members hurt by the one behind this. But instead of sending him back to the moment when the warlock was killing Prue and Drea so that Chris could stop him, Chris was sent back to before he was even conceived.
We then go back to Perry, now known as Chris, in the Heavenly Waiting Room. There is a long pause before THEY agree to help him change the future, as long as he’s not the one actually doing the changing and setting up an everlasting time loop, and he agrees.
3x15: Unlucky Coven – New EpisodeA witch coven is being attacked. Several times a week another witch is attacked. A male witch leaves one night to help his friend and returns to find his pregnant mortal wife, and two witch children missing. Darryl is on the scene later and notices something odd. It appears to him that something supernatural is up, so he calls the Charmed Ones.
The Charmed Ones come and confront the witch, Charles Sullivan, who asks for their help. It’s a race against the clock to find and save his missing family and stop the attacks on his coven once and for all.
Meanwhile, Chris is getting settled into Cole’s penthouse. No sooner is he settled than Melinda comes visiting with some strange but happy news. Thanks to her just having sent her astral projection to the past, Melinda can still remember what happened during the various timeline changes, including the one that Chris still remembers, since he won’t remember the effects of any changes until he returns home.
Melinda now tells Chris that thanks to him warning THEM, their father is now alive in the future, as is their Aunt Paige. And since that means that the Power of Three is back, the world is a much better place than the one Chris remembers, which means that their mother and her sister didn't have to vanquish Cole. To top it off, the family has been extended – they now have another uncle, Paige’s husband Jason, and another cousin – Phoebe Samantha Halliwell, known as Sami.
Chris wants to know if their Aunt Prue, Uncle Bane and cousin Drea are now alive in the future. which would mean that Chris can go home, because it would mean that he had succeeded in stopping the warlock. But Melinda sadly shakes her head. Chris hugs Melinda, although he can't feel her, since this is just her astral projection. He tells her to be careful; he wouldn't want anything to happen to her. He thinks that with the help of Cole and their Aunt Phoebe’s diary, he's getting closer to finding out why the spell took him to this time period. Melinda gives him another hug which goes right through him and then returns to her own body in the future, while Chris worries about his family, especially his big sister.
3x16: Fate of Our Fathers – New EpisodeCole has been reading Phoebe's diary and has reached her last entry, written the day she died. In it she started to write about the discovery she had made regarding Cole's father's soul, but she never got a chance to write it down. Cole has the sisters summon Ghost Phoebe and she tells him that it's not the Source who has his father's soul...it's been his demonic mother all along.
Using information he has received over the years and with the Charmed Ones' help, he confronts his mother, and the Charmed Ones are able to vanquish Elizabeth in a way that allows Benjamin Turner's soul to finally be able to be free and go on to the Afterlife.
Hearing about this gets Chris to thinking about his own father. He knows that Leo is now alive in his future, but he remembers the stories he's heard from his mother, and is afraid that in a week's time, Leo will once more go try to save a charge and end up becoming the stone statue that Chris remembers seeing up in their attic his entire lifetime – the statue that his mother never once stopped trying to change back into the man she always loved.
Saving Leo was never part of Chris’ mission, but as long as he has the chance... Melinda, who's visiting, reminds him about future consequences. He reminds her of the future consequences of telling THEM...their father and Aunt Paige alive in a much better future. Couldn't the same thing happen if he tells their mother and aunts about what is going to happen? Melinda has to agree and thoughtfully returns to her body.
3x17: Coyote Prue – Originally 3x09: Coyote PiperThere's a new band out that Piper really likes and when she finds out that the lead singer used to go to Baker High, she uses that connection to sign them to a contract to play at P3. Then on a whim, she uses the Net to contact a lot of the Baker High alums for an impromptu high school reunion. It's only later when Prue finds out that Piper is reminded that Prue and the lead singer can't stand each other, and Prue isn't in the least-bit happy about them coming to P3. But Piper has to admit that since the band has already signed a contract, there's not a lot Prue can do about it.
During rehearsals, the singer keeps putting Prue down, pointing out how wonderful her life is as compared to Prue's. Prue wants to tell her about the Charmed Ones, but of course she can't. For the first time in a while, Prue wishes that either Andy or Mitch were still around and that she could shove them in the lead singer's face. She even considers asking her sisters if she can borrow their husband/boyfriend for the night, or if not them, asking Cole if he’d pretend to be her boyfriend, but decides against it. That might be too tempting for the half-demon.
To top it off, when Prue goes back to the Manor to get ready for the concert, she is taken over by a life essence trying to escape her alchemist creator. The life essence just wants to have fun and doesn’t care who dies in the process – and if the life essence doesn’t leave the host body and find a new one in a twenty-four hour period, the host will die.
Chris has been trying to stay out of the way of his family until he knows why he is here in this time period. He is stunned when his Aunt Prue shows up at P3 acting like a pole dancer - so is the lead singer and all of the other Baker High alumni.
While Piper and Paige are trying to figure out why Prue is acting so weird, Prue is fighting to regain control of her body and get a message to her sisters before the essence stays too long and Prue dies.
And while they're trying to do that, Leo, who has been called Up There, returns, telling the sisters and Cole about what THEY have told him about the upcoming Titan attack, and we see the Seer listening in. She decides that it would be advantageous to make that attack happen sooner than it originally happened, so she promises great powers to the demon who she has seen originally release the Titans, if he releases the Titans immediately. Of course, that's a lie, since this is a suicide mission for the demon.
As Piper and Paige find a way to rescue their sister, a panicked Melinda shows up, telling Chris that everything she told him before about Leo, Paige and Cole surviving has changed - she literally saw them fade away, even the new members of the family. Now everything is back the way it was, and Melinda is the only one of those still surviving who can remember the way things changed. She has no idea why things changed back and, worse, she is no longer sure if those things should've been changed in the first place.
What she doesn’t know but what we're shown is that while Prue was being rescued from the life essence, the demon released the Titans, setting up Leo to once more die, changing the future back to what it was. By the time Melinda tells Chris about everything changing back Meta has already taken her first whitelighter – Natalie - hostage and is trolling for the next one.
Chris’ first thought is of his dad, the dad he's never known and who he thought was saved. Deciding that talking to THEM just gave him false hope for his family, especially his dad, and that THEY'RE not worth the effort of asking for help, Chris decides to use the direct approach.
He orbs to the Manor where his mother and Aunt Paige have managed to save his Aunt Prue, but everyone is exhausted and ready for sleep. Even Cole has decided that he is going to just crash on the living room couch tonight rather than go back to his penthouse. Chris blurts out that he needs their help and now, that the Titans were released sooner than they were supposed to be so if they don't help him soon, their future is going to go straight to hell!
3x18: The Day the Magic Died – Originally 5x22: Oh My Goddess: Part OneThe Halliwells and Leo are not happy by the interruption from this person who no one knows and who they all think is nuts. Of course, the only one who believes him is Cole, who suggests that Leo go check it out with THEM. Chris tries to stop his father, worried that his orbing will attract the Titans' attention, but Leo, who doesn't believe a word Chris is saying, orbs out anyway. While he's gone, the others try to calm Chris down, but he's terrified that something will happen to his dad. Somehow he manages to not blurt out his secret of who he is or why he's here, but it's not easy, especially when his mom is the one who tries to comfort him. He tells them that his name is Chris and he's from the future, but nothing else.
He's very relieved when Leo returns and more relieved to see him worried. Although THEY still kept Chris’ secret, THEY told Leo that THEY believed him, especially because now two whitelighters are no longer heeding THEIR calls. This news terrifies Chris, as he tries to not look at the Titans’ third victim...Leo. Then Leo asks him to tell them who are the Titans. Hearing about it reminds Paige of the dreams she's been having, helping the sisters to finally believe Chris.
Leo wants to know how the Titans were taken care of during the future he remembers, so Chris tells them the story of The Day the Magic Died. After hearing the story, Paige says she's willing to make the sacrifice if necessary. Although her sisters don't want this, they say they understand. Not Cole; he thinks they're all nuts. Leo thinks it's unnecessary - why should they do that when they can simply use the Power of Three? If the Power of Three could vanquish the Source of All Evil, it can certainly vanquish Titans.
While the sisters work on the proper spell, Leo gets a call from a charge; she's in trouble. Chris begs him not to go help her, certain that this is when Leo will die, but of course Leo, being Leo, can't
not go, and he orbs out.
Prue tells Chris not to worry - she has Paige hug Piper while Chris hugs her (the only way someone can orb someone else - the same way Leo orbed Piper during "P3 H2O") before they follow Leo's orb cloud and there, once Prue and Piper recover from being orbed, they use the new spell to vanquish the Titan. But it's just Meta - the two men are nowhere in sight. Leo heads Up There and finds out that although some of THEM escaped, most of THEM are once more dead. When he tells the sisters this, they go Titan-hunting and vanquish the other two Titans without Leo or Paige being killed.
But after the Titans are defeated. Leo is summoned Up There. Time passes and no sign of Leo. Now both Chris and Piper are worried.
Story Arc Three: Can Fate Be Changed?
3x19: Higher Callings – Originally 5x23: Oh My Goddess: Part TwoLeo returns to tell Piper that he has been offered a promotion – the chance to become one of THEM. THEY have told him that THEY have always known that it is Leo’s true destiny to be the Charmed Ones’ guide, but THEY know that he can be both guide and one of THEM, but for now THEY need him to stay Up There. It’s only temporary while THEY and the world recover from the Titan attack.
Leo tells Piper that he pointed out that the Charmed Ones would once again be without a whitelighter, but all THEY said was that THEY had someone in mind.
Despite being a company man, Leo tells Piper that he turned down the job offer, but Piper convinces him to take it - with so many of THEM gone, he's needed and she can't think of anyone who would help THEM do a better job leading the battle against Evil than he - besides, maybe he can convince THEM that the Charmed Ones' lives isn't all about battling demons and let them have some semblance of a normal life. Despite her weak try at humor, he doesn't like leaving her and Meli, and neither does she, but...he kisses her and is gone.
Meanwhile, Chris, who has no idea what has happened, has gone back to the penthouse with Cole so they can both get some much-needed sleep when he again finds himself dragged back to the Heavenly Waiting Room. There THEY offer him the temporary job of whitelighter for the Charmed Ones. That terrifies Chris - he thinks that this means that his dad is dead again, but THEY reassure him that Leo’s fine; that he's just agreed to be promoted. That terrifies Chris worse - does this mean that in the future he'll still never get to know his dad? Again THEY reassure him that Leo will still be able to be with his family; THEY just need him to stay Up There while THEY recover from the Titan attack.
Chris still has one major problem with this whole thing - despite being able to orb and able to heal, he's not a whitelighter. THEY know this - right off the bat when THEY realized that he was from the future, THEY knew that he was still alive and could not be a true whitelighter, the reason why THEY'VE always brought him to the Waiting Room rather than Up There where he would've suffocated from lack of air. But THEY will set it up so that he can hear THEIR jingles if THEY need to give him any messages for the Charmed Ones and if he needs to deliver a message to THEM, he can orb to the Waiting Room.
THEY also point out that by being the Charmed Ones' whitelighter, he will have a reason to be close to his family, especially now that they already know that he exists, which means he’ll be able to work with his family and try to figure out how to solve the problem affecting his future, besides finding out why he came to this point in time. Chris can't argue with THEIR logic and accepts the job, as long as THEY agree to take away THEIR annoying jingle before he goes back home to the future, and THEY agree.
Leo is called to the Waiting Room where Chris gets to watch his dad receive his new powers before Leo is introduced to his temporary replacement. THEY do not tell Leo who Chris really is, but as one of THEM Leo can tell that Chris isn't a whitelighter, but a witch with whitelighter powers. Knowing that while he is stuck in this time period, his father will be stuck Up There, Chris decides to tell his father exactly who he is and why he's here. Leo agrees that not telling the Charmed Ones his identity is probably for the best; it will help keep things as close to the way things were in the original timeline as possible so that hopefully Chris will be able to figure out what's going on. Leo will also use his new powers to try to find out what's going on and will jingle Chris if he finds anything.
Leo also reminds his future son that even though he is allowed to be with their family, he must be careful not to interfere with anyone else's life and especially not to interfere with their family's life as little as possible and Chris agrees, even as he rolls his eyes - it sounds too much like one of his mother's lectures that he’s heard all his life.
Leo orbs back down with Chris to introduce him to the family so they know that he's now their new whitelighter. There they find Piper’s sisters trying to comfort the mourning woman who no longer had to pretend to be brave now that her husband was gone. Seeing the way his wife was mourning, Leo runs over to her and holds her tight, knowing how much she loves him because she is willing to let him go no matter how much it would hurt her. He swears to himself that he will be absolutely the best one of THEM he can possibly be just to justify her sacrifice.
He introduces Chris as a whitelighter from the future who needs their help. Then after sending a special smile Chris’ way, Leo has one last good-bye with Piper, and leaves behind a special gift - a son who is now a witch with THEIR powers rather than a witch with whitelighter powers, although this won’t affect Chris until after he goes back to his own time.
Later, after Chris returns to the penthouse (where he tells Cole all about his strange day), he gets a visit from Melinda, who tells him that everything has been altered back. Leo, Paige and Cole are alive, and Uncle Jason and cousin Phoebe Samantha are once more part of the family.
Meanwhile, Prue is determined to figure out who this newcomer really is, especially when she sees their new whitelighter staring longingly at little Meli. Chris misses his big sister so much and wants a better life for her. He’s also worried about what's happening to her and the rest of the family in the future, but especially Melinda.
3x20: Change One Thing... – New EpisodeAfter Chris helps the Charmed Ones save another innocent, he gets another visit from Melinda. She looks absolutely devastated and Chris knows the news must be bad. It is.
Since the warlock has figured out that Chris – or Perry as the warlock knows him – is in the past, the warlock threatened Melinda that if she didn’t turn evil, he would kill both of their parents. Chris is horrified and wants to go back home right now and kill the warlock himself. Melinda insists that he can’t do that – she’s afraid that the warlock will kill him, and she already feels terrible enough, but never enough to turn evil.
But what about the rest of the family – their aunts, their uncles, their cousins, Cole? Melinda doesn’t respond and Chris is horrified to realize that they are also already gone. Then in a small voice he asks, “Bianca?” and Melinda has to admit that Chris’ wife and her entire family – Darryl, Sheila, Trudi and Michael – are also dead.
Now Chris desperately wants Melinda to find a spell to send her full self back here and be safe, but Melinda is afraid that if she does, the warlock might be able to follow her and end up killing everyone in this time period which will really screw up the timeline, and Chris can’t disagree with that. No, she’ll stay in their time period, with plenty of faith in her little brother that he’ll figure out how to fix this mess. She does her best to comfort a weeping Chris before returning home.
Devastated and not being careful in his actions, Chris ends up causing the death of an innocent. Now Chris is even more devastated by what his actions have done.
With all of this already heavy on Chris’ mind, Prue confronts him and learns what happened to precipitate the actions of the day and ultimately figures out that this is her nephew. Prue introduces Piper and Leo (who is now allowed to visit his family) to their future son (not knowing that Leo already knows who he is), then tells everyone else who Chris is, and tells them that she believes that it would be best if Chris is returned to his own time. Even though Chris has done well at trying to keep out of the way of history, this one little mistake cost dearly. Although his coming back saved Leo’s life and ultimately Paige’s and Cole’s, it still cost an innocent her life. They promise to do what they can to figure out what happened to cause Chris to end up in this time period, but they all agree to send Chris back, even Chris himself.
After they do, they are given a new whitelighter, but it’s actually their old one - THEY have decided that enough time has passed so that Leo can be with his family, as long as he goes back Up There whenever THEY need him, and Leo has agreed. He’s not even surprised to find out that Piper is pregnant.
3x21: Shall We Save Ourselves or Save an Innocent? – Originally Season 8 - the Billie parts...Series Finale, Part OneEven as the sisters celebrate Leo’s return, a young blonde witch comes to the door, looking for the Charmed Ones’ help. Her sister has been missing for ten years and the blonde has just learned that demons are behind it and her sister might still be alive. She doesn't have any powers herself, although she's certain that her sister does and that's why the demons kidnapped her sister and not her. But now she needs the Charmed Ones’ help to find out if she is alive and to get her back if she is.
The Charmed Ones confirm that the blonde’s sister is indeed alive and where she is, but before they can rescue her, suddenly Chris is back. Thanks to what happened the first time he was here, he is now a witch with THEIR powers, and one of them is time travel.
Due to what happened, he now admits that he's the last remaining member of their family. The warlock who he tried to stop before has killed everyone else. The only reason why Chris himself is not dead is because with his having THEIR powers, he's been hiding Up There, somewhere the warlock can't go. Melinda was the one who suggested it, even as she was dying after she tried to saved her little brother, and looking at little Meli sitting on Leo’s lap, all the Halliwells can do is mourn.
But while he was Up There, one of THEM had an idea. THEY used their combined power along with Chris' to steal a button from the warlock, a button Chris is now delivering to his mother. He tells the Charmed Ones that the THEY in the future believe that Piper should be able to get a retro from the button that will show her what went wrong and why Chris ended up here in this time period the first time around and maybe the Charmed Ones will be able to do what Chris couldn't - fix the future.
The blonde witch and her sister are forgotten as they decide to find out what the little button can tell them and after wishing them luck, Chris goes back.
Piper uses the button to get a retro, the longest, most detailed time-travel trip she has ever had. This is when she and we find out that the warlock is in fact Prue’s son, Piper's own nephew, kidnapped by the Seer before Prue was even aware that he existed. He was named Warren because the Seer had visions showing him as the Twice-Cursed Child – the one destined to bring down the full Warren line, especially if he was raised evil. Piper sees the Seer telling Warren that Prue rejected him not only because his father was a warlock, but because he was also the Source of All Evil.
Piper is horrified when she also sees the Seer telling Warren that if he can get his cousin Melinda, who is a witch with whitelighter powers, to turn evil and become a warlock with darklighter powers like Warren himself, then Warren and Melinda would have more power than Warren could possibly imagine, and it hurts Piper to see the avarice on her nephew’s face.
Piper also sees all of the powers that Warren already has. That hurts her, too - she knows it must mean that Warren has stolen those powers from witches who he has killed, including all of the Halliwell powers.
When Piper tells the others, they want to use the button to scry for the Seer and summon her to them so they can put Fetus Warren back where he belongs - inside Prue - before vanquishing the Seer, but there's still a few hours until the full moon and the spell won't work until then.
Even as they discuss what to do about this, they receive yet another visitor from the future - WARREN!
3x22: Fate, Hope and Love – New EpisodeSeries Finale, Part TwoUnknown to the Charmed Ones, but now seen by us, the Seer had a vision of Piper having her retro, so she sent a vision to herself in the future to send Warren back in hopes that Warren will kill Prue before the sisters can put Fetus Warren back where he belongs, and at the same time get rid of the Power of Three by getting rid of Prue, even if it means also getting rid of Warren.
Warren refuses to believe that Prue truly didn't know anything about him until the sisters summon the Seer to them, so they can show Warren that Prue never had a chance to reject her son, because it's the Seer who is pregnant with Warren, not Prue. The Seer calls Prue a liar, but her anger upsets Fetus Warren enough that he sends out his lightning - Warren's very first power - which, of course Warren recognizes.
When Warren finally realizes that he's been lied to all his life, he wants to get rid of the Seer right now, but Prue refuses to let him do that until Fetus Warren is put back where he belongs - inside Prue - and they still can’t do that until the full moon the next night.
Even as Piper wants to prepare Leo his favorite dinner to welcome him home, the young blonde returns…they had forgotten all about her and her sister. Paige tries to explain that they’re really busy right now, but both Prue and Piper remind their youngest sister what their powers are really for – helping innocents, much more than helping themselves – so they help rescue the blonde’s kidnapped sister, even binding her powers so that the blonde doesn’t have to worry about evil coming after her sister or her again.
Finally, the next night when the moon is full, they transfer Fetus Warren back into Prue before vanquishing the Seer, also causing Warren to fade with a smile on his face as he realizes what’s happening – his future as the Twice-Cursed Child can no longer happen. Even as he does, we hear a young voice ask, “So, Mom, will he stay good?”
The camera pulls back and we see Melinda Warren telling her young daughter Prudence all about her visions of the future. Even as we see Prue showing off her daughter Phoebe Andrea to her husband, Bane, and her son, Warren, while they are surrounded by their family who are oohing and aahing, we hear Melinda tell Prudence that, yes, Warren will stay good, and we see Warren as a teenager, protecting an innocent, even as we hear Melinda tell Prudence that thanks to being both the son of the oldest of the Charmed Ones and the son of a powerful warlock who was also the Source, but having had his inner witch nurtured by Prue and Bane, with help from the rest of the family, especially Leo and Paige, it's Warren who the Power of Three Phoebes – Bane and Prue’s Phoebe Andrea, Leo and Piper’s Phoebe Melinda, and Jason and Paige's Phoebe Samantha - will help out. As each is named, we see that girl with her parents. If there's any other siblings, they're left for any spin-off.
Then Melinda smiles and then tells Prudence and us a special secret. “You know that I’ve prophesied that in my next lifetime I will be a member of the Charmed family myself and will again have all three of my powers.”
Prudence grins. “Of course! You’ll be known as the Twice-Blessed Child!” Her eyes grow big. “Oh! Will you be Phoebe Melinda?”
“No, my darling. None of the past lives of the three Phoebes will be members of our family. They will be started by fresh souls who have never known each other and will have a chance to start a whole new destiny. Now Perry Christopher, that’s another story. He will be the reincarnation of Phoebe Halliwell, who will be allowed to come back early because she will die so her sisters can live and can become Charmed again, just like she’ll help save the family again as Perry Christopher, so they can remain Charmed.”
“She’ll come back as a boy?”
“It happens. And it will happen again in that family. You see, my dear, the Seer will never know how right she will be in giving Warren that name.”
“You mean?”
Melinda nods. “Yes. The Seer will never know that when she steals the baby she thinks can destroy the Halliwells, she will actually be stealing and protecting me.”
THE END OF “CHARMED: No Fate”
Okay, Matriarch, Reyn, Phoenixligher and Nerf, can you please do this for the rest of your series??? Unless, of course, if you truly plan on finishing them - that would be even better.
