Barbas, the demon of fear, killed people by using their greatest fear against them. So here's the question: How would Barbas kill you?
We also know from "Sympathy For The Demon" that Barbas can simply torture people with their fears, so you can discuss general fears here as well, but make sure to answer what your greatest (what Barbas would kill you with) fear is.
Update: We're now also discussing nightmares/dreams.

He'd probably surround me with all sorts of spiders and snakes and I'd just die at the sight. I mean, I already scream to death and lift my legs up in the air just from seeing one of those on TV so coming face to face with only one...
Then again he could also project me into a pool full of sharks, or with just one shark, you know.
So yeah, with me it's the usual: shark, spider, snake. And now I'm going to check the corners of my room before going to bed...

I'm exactly like Terry: spider, shark, snake, bees, other crawling creatures and flying insects.
But like Barbas said to Phoebe, you need to look deeper. So I'm guessing my deepest fear would be losing those persons who I love the most.

I most definitely fall into the bees/arachnids/insects of all types category. I've broken bones and not shed a tear, and yet bugs tend to send me into embarrassing hysterics. I'm cool with snakes though. As long as they're not poisonous or six hundred pound boa constrictors.
Looking deeper, I'd like to say I'm more afraid of losing someone important to me... but I honestly think I would handle a friend/family death better than I would handle being swarmed by insects.
Horrible, but true nonetheless.

I've narrowed down my main fear years ago, it all relates to me being terrified of being left behind. So if we're talking about ways in which Barbas would use our fears against us, it would probably be like, everyone suddenly disappearing or something. Nicely worded question, btw.

Peacocks...I know, I know, it's embarrassing. If I recall, I had a fit when I was in kindergarten and we went to the zoo. So embarrassing, I was pretty much in a frenzy. It's just their feathers! People find it beautiful , I find it incredibly scary. Looking deeper...the loss of a family member. I know that day is coming, so I just stay on my toes and prepare myself as much as possible.

I think one of my biggest fears is the future, the unknown. Meaning I'm afraid that I will never become successful and be a failure forever. So if Barbas showed me a vision of the future where I was dying on the street, a loser, with no friends or family... that might do it.
General fears... I'm certainly squeemish with bugs, like you guys, but not deathly afraid. Bees/hornets/wasps I'm scared of. I used to tell people I was allergic to them so I had an excuse to run away. I'm also generally afraid of death and losing loved ones. As my dog gets older, I get more and more afraid of losing her.
I really can't think of any true phobias, like Alyssa being really afraid of the water, or stuff like that. Something that would make me freeze when confronted by it.
EDIT: Oh, I just saw the post above me. Peacocks? Now that is hilarious. ;D Sorry, I know it's not nice to laugh at someone else's fear. Did one attack you at some point? Or is it just that they have an ungodly amount of feathers that can move? ... How do you feel about turkeys? Those things can get violent.

The deepest fear would be me being all alone; "no friends, no family, no hope".
Common fears: oh geez, spiders, snakes, drowning, the dark (lol!), and lots of other stuff.

... How do you feel about turkeys? Those things can get violent. ;D and chickens. I swear, no offense to any vegetarians out there, but every single time I get pecked by one of those stupid birds, I'm really glad that we eat them. Whether it be peacocks or pigeons though... I could see being afraid of them... birds are so shifty and unpredictable, lol. Definitely not a fan. I'm not afraid per say, but I'm always watching them out of the corner of my eye, semi-expecting an attack. Predatory birds are cool; hawks, eagles, falcons, etc. etc. But the average annoying kind? No thank you.

I do have Acrophobia and Arachnophobia, and also fear of water, but only big open spaces of water like the ocean.
The fear of birds, whatever kind, I understand. Not that I'm scared of pigeons or peacocks, I just prefer to see them from a distance.

Right, I totally forgot the "deeper" thing. Probably because I'd just seen a snake on TV as it were, and it totally freaked me out. Lol
So yeah, if it were Barbas I was dealing with, he'd have some fun with me. My deepest fear is to lose my mother. I've had reason before to ponder that very event and every time the very thought has sent me to the verge of suicide. So yeah, he could add to that my fear of being abandoned and I'd probably jump off the cliff at that point.
I do suffer from claustrophobia, too. Especially if it's in a very very crowded place, so much so that I can barely move -- more so than small places, though that does make me uncomfortable.

Spiders - okay this was a fear instilled in me after I used to keep the fridge door open as a kid just to feel the cool air. They had kept a spider in a jar just next to it so that I wouldn't open it as often.
Heights - Yeah. Head spins, lose balance. Verti-freakin'-go. You might think I'm drunk when you see me walk atop a bridge.
Transexuals - Make-up/cosmetics on guys. It scares me. I feel my insides cringe. No offence to any of you here on the board.
Water bodies - pools, oceans, seas, you name it. Ever since I almost drowned as a kid, I don't get to close with these. Which makes pool parties boring. Eh.

Interesting topic For me, it has to be snakes. I'm such a girl when it comes to snakes, I can't look at one and if I do I feel like it's on me. It's pretty bad, but I think it stems back to my childhood when my dad would watch lots of those really bad giant snake movies. I know it's a pretty blah fear, but it's the one that would get me the most.

It's even worse when I have a dream of this huge snake coming right at me & I'm screaming at the top of my lungs but not a single sound comes out. I'm not scared of much but I think snakes & spiders or basically anythings that crawls is my fear. My biggest fear? I'll let you know once I figure that one out.

They had kept a spider in a jar just next to it so that I wouldn't open it as often. Wow. You'd think that would make you afraid of refrigerators, too. I don't really get all this fear of snakes. Sure, if I was face to face with a cobra, or rattlesnake, then I'd be pretty freaked. But the thought or sight of them doesn't scare me. But I do get the whole "screaming, but nothing comes out" in dreams, thing. Maybe we should talk about some of our most memorable, or recurring dreams/nightmares here, too. Or maybe that should be a different thread... What ya think, peeps? Combine it with this thread, or make a new one?

I reckon we shift this thread to the off-topic discussion as clearly none of us are discussing Barbas or fear related to the show. Then perhaps we could divulge into nightmares and dreams?
Speaking of, who's had one of those dreams where you fall or trip and you wake up with a jerk? As awkward as those feel at that moment, I kinda find them funny when I think back.

Good idea. And done. Okay, see, I have a dirty mind. When I first read that my mind thought you meant waking up with a person who is a jerk. And I was all, "Well, waking up after a wild, drunken night to find yourself in bed with some jerk does suck... but how are these related?" But... then I got it. Waking up with a jerk; a jolt; a jump; a snap; a... okay, I'm done. I have jolted awake many a time, but I'm not sure it has ever been linked to what was happening in my dream. My most memorable nightmare/dream is one from years ago. I was in the house that I lived in then and I was in my mom's office (which was basically the front room of the house where the front door was, but we never used that door) and outside of the window I saw this shadow of this werwolf/monster thing. I ran out of the office and had to jump over this chair that was blocking the way (which for some odd reason had an empty 2 liter pepsi bottle sitting on it) and into the living room where my sister was working on homework. I tried to yell and say that there was something outside, but nothing would come out. So I ran back, jumping over the chair with the bottle on it (why I didn't just move the chair, I don't know) and back into the office, where the monster was outside the window, trying to break in. Ran back, jumped, screamed with no sound, ran back and peeked into the office to see that the monster was now inside the room, sniffing around. I ran back a final time and screamed until a tiny squeak finally came out. My mom came out of the kitchen with a frying pan in hand and... I woke up. I like to think she clobbered the beast with it.

I love those Sometimes I get them when I'm not asleep, but I always laugh at myself because of how freaked out I am when I get them. But as far as bad dreams go, that's about it. Most of my dreams are just a bit weird and usually feature odd groups of people I know and/or celebrities

Most of my dreams are just a bit weird and usually feature odd groups of people I know and/or celebrities Same here. What is weird though, is every time I'm sick, I have the same odd dream. I love having weird dreams though. They're always fun. Especially when they take place in the Charmedverse ;-) My worst nightmare... I don't really remember them, but most of them involved school for some reason. Also, don't you guys hate the impossibility of running away in dreams? Whenever I try to run away I can't seem to go faster than a snail. Also turning left or right seems difficult. Saving yourself just seems impossible. An example: once I dreamed I was being hunt by a snake. So I try to run and hide on my bed for some reason, every time I sat on my bed, I fell off. Another thing. Have any of you ever had a "premonition"-dream? Just dreaming something which happens the next morning or any other time after you dreamed it.
