Found this on another site: Ok, so I've been searching for this for years. I finally found someone selling the TV Guide and quickly bought it. I felt I should post it for my fellow Charmed fans. Enjoy!

Kinda strange. Their *mother* always told them they were special?? Shouldn't that be their "grandmother" How's that? Even the *ads* were inconsistent. Gotta love it!

Really cool find. And I think both Patty and Penny told them they were special. It was just the pilot so...

Now I think Es is right: Phoebe never knew Patty so it has to be "Their grandmother". Eek, it wouldn't surprise that they never bothered to watch the show they premiered Lol Anyway, cool find.

It's advertising. Wipe your mind clean of anything you know about Charmed. Which reads better to a potential viewer:
"Their mother always told them they'd be special" or "Their grandmother always told them they'd be special"?
I don't recall them mentioning details of Patty's death in the pilot. Nor do I think they had filmed or written "That 70s Episode" at that time. So it's not the advertiser's fault.
Anyway, I remember there used to be a german site (called "Charming-Network", I believe) that had a gallery full of these TV guide ads. Some of them were quite captivating, visually and by catch-phrase, albeit B&W. Can't seem to find it. Must have closed down or changed their address.

Charming Network closed a few years before C-Net I think. And like Temporal Death said, this ad was for the pilot, Patty's death and everything around that was decided after it. Plus, Phoebe was one year old when Patty died so she always could have said it or Grams could have told them.
Anyway, it's nice to see that ad.

Yeah, I don't view it as a mistake. Besides, an advertiser just gets a general outline of the show/episode they are advertising, not a detailed account of Patty dying and Grams raising the kids. And since it was a series premiere, any info given to adverts would be quite vague. Just chill, peeps. But thank you, Esmeralda! That is so cool. It doesn't make me as nostalgic as some, as I didn't watch the show when it first started (I think I got into it during S3), but it's still cool. I remember seeing TV Guide ads for later episodes, but I don't think I've ever seen one for the first episode.

I always loved those ads as they showed a lot of unused promos of the girls. It's true, Charming-Net had all the ads but I luckily found some of them on Liane's site Innocently-Charmed. Now she only has up to the end of season 4 but there are others. Feel free to post them if you have them or find them online. It's nice to see these pics again!

I always thought the promos used were mixed-and-matched facial expressions out of the set of promos releases, but clearly there are some that aren't manipped. I really wish they'd release all the outtakes. I know Andreas from Repro Images could get her hands on them, but she's a real stuck up bitch when it comes to requests and nicities. Oh, I also love how Phoebe's hair is made lighter in the S3 promos. How's that for consistency?

Couldn't have said it better myself. I do recall seeing another piece of advertisement in which the tagline was used, because I've never seen that ad before (seen pretty much all of the other ones though), but I recognize the catchphrase. Hmm... Also, the TV Guide ads were SO useful in releasing unreleased promos (collecting promotional photography, as some of you may know, used to be a hobby of mine). Even with the random spouts of unseen promotional photos being released, there are still quite a few that have never been seen outside of the TV Guide ads, to this day.

Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know that I was the one who had scanned that onto IMDB. Very cool to see everyone enjoying it. ;D The websites where I had seen most of the old tv guides have closed. I do have most of them printed from when I had originally found them. I have a poster version that I had found on the web over 4 years ago. I'm assuming that site is long gone and this is also pretty rare. Keep in mind this is a scan of a printed out version of a picture taken with a digital camera. Expect the quality to be pretty poor. It used the same tagline. It does sound a bit weird, but it does make sense. Although I wish they had used "The Power of Three Will Set Us Free". That would've been neat. I do have a lot of other rare TV Guide ads for other shows from the 90s. If anyone has requests just PM me. It's kind of a hobby of mine to collect them. Attachments:
