Charmed Comic coming in summer 2010

That bothered me too, the way Phoebe is drawn, Piper standing behind her like she's not important. And indeed, they do the leg-out-a-dress on the promo's too, but it could look different when it's drawn. The touching does not bother me at all except that Piper isn't either touching Alyssa or Rose, again, like she's not important to them.

And do I see that right? Can I see a tattoo on Piper's arm? I think I do...

I think the biggest contributer to why that cover was drawn that way is who the publisher is. Zenescope is notorious for having women displayed very sexually. This is actually extremely tame compared to most of their other stuff. Go check out their website and see: zenescope.com/home.htm

This is why part of me is a little wary of the comic series. However, after finding out who the lead writer is (Paul Ruditis) I am confident that the writing will be in good hands. Also, I think the type of cover for Issue #1 will be what the other official covers will be like, with the sisters looking like themselves and wearing what they would wear. I'm assuming, though, that they will have alternate covers as well (like the Buffy comics do) that will be more like Zenescope's other comic covers.

I agree with Nerf, and it's not only zenescope that sexualizes women in comics. Check any comicbook with female characters. Jean Grey, Sue Storm, and many other comic heroines are drawn as very curvacious and sexual. I understand most of you don't read comics, but this isn't all that bad, and is actually very classy.

And Holly's boobs are big in the first cover, but it's hardly something to freak out about.

The second looks fake. I don't think they would redraw a promo and it just looks horrible compared to the other drawings.

Yeah, I'm really unsure about it as well, just because of how bad it looks, particularly Holly/Piper.

Yeah, it looks like half of Phoebe's body has been cut off. Actually, it has, going by the promo it is based off of.

I'm actually warming up to that other one. The dresses are actually very nice, especially Phoebe's.

The second one actually looks okay, it's just in a different style compared to the other one, and it's nothing we haven't seen before, since it basically IS the promo that we've all seen time and time again, just with recolored tops. But I do agree, it looks more like fanart, than an actual cover, which, so far, have all been completely new poses, clothes, and layouts.

To be honest, I don't know why any of us expected any differently. When it was still on TV, it was all about the sex appeal. Plus, I did the research before any of the actual news was posted, and one of the first things we found out was that it was by Zenescope. Like Nerf said, they're all about the exposure and sex appeal. I know we're all upset at the way our girls are being portrayed, but with all that said, why are we so shocked?

The important thing is that the show is back, and that its story is in good hands. Being completely honest, how many of us actually thought we'd see Charmed come back? Never in a million years, yet it did. We should be happy! And I also think we should wait until it's actually is released, rather than literally judging the book by its cover.

I like that cover. The dresses are like really classy.

Anyways, an interview about when the storyline will take place should be released in a few weeks.

I am actually really excited for this. Maybe it shall get my Charmed muse back and to get back to liking the show that i had loved so many years. For seeing the same episodes time and time again for the past 4 and a half years gets a little tiring lol. So, I am excited to see where this takes us, for we have anything to look forward to, NO BUDGET RESTRAINTS!

Actually, yes I would. I think that it distracts from the actual story/comic. I think it's a shame that the only way we're gonna get a Charmed comic is by sexualising the girls.

I am still looking forward to the story lines, though. It's just a shame about the pictures.

I dont mind what the cover looks like. Like many have said, that is how all comics are. That is something we just need to deal with. They do the same thing in Buffy comics, so it shouldn't be that big a deal. So, we shouldn't worry so much.

They aren't on the website yet but Zenescope is supposed to have a subscription for the series. I emailed them about it and that is the reply I got. No word on when though.
