Who Is Your Favourite Charmed One?

When I first got into the show, Phoebe was my favourite, as well as most other fans I knew personally. I suppose it was because she was the typically pretty one, and because she actually was a good character in the earlier seasons.

Soon after, Piper, who I used to hate because I thought she was miserable (Haha, I was only 8 or 9), became my favourite and that lasted for a while, until it switched over to Paige, who remains as my current favourite. I never really liked Prue, but she's definitely grown on me now. These days, my favourite is Paige, followed by Piper, then Prue, and then Phoebe.

I will admit, though, and Rory, I'm sure you'll be pleased to hear this, Matriarch definitely got me more interested in Piper's character again.

So, who's everyone else's favourite?

I guess my case is similar to that of Reece, only that I started watching the show from the fourth season, so Paige was my instant favorite. As the season progressed, I began to like Piper too, and it was always a toss up between the two as my favorite Charmed ones until the show ended.

When I had the chance to view earlier seasons, I've got to admit, I liked Phoebe better than the other two, but still has a soft spot for Piper (most probably because back then as a twelve year old I thought her powers were the coolest, lol). <Twelve year old>But TKO definitely trumps molecular inhibition.</Twelve year old> But post-Prue, they really wrecked Phoebe's character.

Prue really had to be my least favorite sister. The character really didn't appeal to me much after the first season, or perhaps the first two episodes of the second season.

So yes: Paige, Piper, Phoebe, Prue.

Luckily for me Witchlighter gives me my Paige fix whenever my interest in Charmed resurfaces, and Matriarch is getting there with the Piper quota. As for Reyn, she brings back the old Phoebe I miss so much.

I still hate Shannen Whorety and Prue. But eh, interesting storylines instead of just weeping over and remembering Andy, as well as random guys, right?

It used to be Piper, right up until way after the show ended it was Piper. However, after watching the show in repeats and on DVD is is now Paige and it has been Paige for a while now. I think it's just her quirks and her silliness which makes me like her, she's sort of like pre-Cole Phoebe in a lot of ways.

When I first started watching the show, for a while it was Phoebe, but I grew tired of her "me, me, me" attitude after a while at around season three, and I truly believe, still to this day that they completely ruined her entire character.

Prue has never really been my favourite, I think it was because she was shoved down our throats during season one when it was mostly "The Prue show". she was okay I suppose, and she was obviously hardened by having to help Grams raise Piper and Prue, but I don't know, I preferred the dynamics that Paige brought. Probably due to the fact that I didn't start watching until the Paige seasons.

Phoebe always has been, and always will be, my favorite. I agree, they damaged her character in the later seasons. A few bad things in S5, then S6 brought in the real damage. But even though she sometimes annoyed the heck out of me, I still loved her. Phoebe just has a special place in my heart. It may have started off as a teenage boy crush, but it grew into so much more. Just as Charmed will always be my favorite show, even though I have others that I watch and love that are admittedly better, Phoebe will always be my favorite sister.

However! Piper is certainly second, and in many ways I like her more. She's like one of the shows that I think is better than Charmed, but still doesn't take the favorite spot just because of the special place in my heart that Phoebe holds. Holly is amazing. That girl can really act, no matter what emotion she is playing. But even though I like her in all seasons, I like S4-8 Piper better than S1-3. I really like how she matured after Prue died, and took the role of the eldest sister/leader very nicely. Plus I just really love the sassy, sarcastic attitude that she developed. This all being said, Piper is certainly my favorite character to write and the one I think I am best at writing.

After that.... hmm. Well, I have said before that Paige is my least favorite. And sometimes she is. When Rose was bored it really showed in her acting. She is certainly the weakest actress of the four. Even when Shannen and Alyssa were having all their issues, it never showed on-screen. However, I think I just like quirky Paige a little more than Prue. Really they are pretty much equal, but I think Paige wins. Maybe because we got more time with her, I don't know. Prue could be fun, but... eh. In some ways she was a 2-D character. Paige as well, actually. Neither of them got the best development. Prue basically had no life by S3. Paige was always shunted to the background. Both lost their actually interesting jobs. ... This is a discussion for another time. But I also just want to say that both characters can be hard for me to write, because I'm not sure what to do with them. I'm getting better with Paige, but I rarely even attempt to write Prue.

Anyway. Phoebe, Piper, Paige, Prue.

I feel like i'm repeating everyone else, but when I started watching charmed during Season 5 when I was about 10 or 11, and I liked Paige the best also. I still do, in fact. She's always been my favorite and always will be, if she would've just learned to use her powers a bit more creatively, she would've been a force to be reckoned with. But, along with most Charmed fans, i'm a bit peeved by the fact she forgets she can orb things.

I'm going to go against the flow on this and pick Prue. She turned into my favourite once I got to watch S1-3 (I watched S5 first). I loved Shannen Doherty from 90210, and I really loved the character. To be honest, I didn't really like her too much at first, I thought she was too cocky and arrogant but later in S1 and then into S2-3 she really grew on me. She let go of some of her pride and I got to understand why the cockiness was there - she wasn't cocky just very prideful and stubborn and also very protective of her little sisters and as a big sister I really did understand that.
Also, when Andy died, she didn't move on as quickly as the others did later in the show. She took her time to meet people and tried to concentrate on herself a little (like becoming a photographer).

I always loved Phoebe. The first episode of Charmed I ever saw was about mid-way through Season 3 and she had her whole love thing going on with Cole. I started to watch it religiously, I got the DVD's for Christmas and Phoebe was instantly my favourite. She was kind of quirky and bad ass for a while with her whole New York past. However, I think it's just that because I was younger Phoebe seemed like the cool sister and that's why I liked her so much. Piper was always quite serious and motherly and Prue was just work work work. Did anyone else get this feeling?

However, the one thing that stopped Phoebe from remaining my favourite was her whole quest for true love. I always find those things quite stupid and just kind of sad. I usually hate characters who are all about finding the one and getting hitched, picket fence etc. Which is kind of what Phoebe became after a while, just a woman searching for a man so she could feel complete. I didn't like that so Phoebe got replaced by Paige pretty quickly for me.

Paige always seemed more free-spirited. I loved the troubled background and the hard time she had growing up, although the other sisters had that too Paige just seemed to connect more with me. I think she was so funny, witty, charming and just so entertaining to watch. She really reminded me of a pre-Cole Phoebe also, like David said. She has her crazy moments and it's kind of sad, but she was always a bit of a role model to me. Although she is just a character, I never had a role model and Paige always reminded me of myself a bit so I guess I just looked to her as someone I could become.

So for about two years and for the rest of my time I am interested in Charmed, Paige is my favourite.

From the very first episode I saw (which was either Reckless Abandonment or That 70s Episode) it was always Piper. I didn't even know what I was watching when I saw those episodes. A few years later mum told me that Charmed was on Five, and that i'd seen it before so I started watching from season 5, and Piper was still my favourite. I really love Piper, but I don't like how they changed her character from about season 7 onwards.

I loved Paige in seasons four and five, but after that she was a bit...boring, to me. And annoying. I used to think that I preferred Paige over Prue, but after watching the first three seasons over and over, I've now decided that I like Prue more.

So, in order, I like Piper, then Prue, then Phoebe and then Paige. I wasn't so keen on Phoebe after season 5 ended, I much prefer early seasons Phoebe.

Phoebe, always has been, and always will be my favourite Charmed sister. I think it's most likely because I absolutely adore Alyssa Milano. But Phoebe to me always seemed to be the fun loving sister. She was beautiful, a party girl, athletic and she could kick some butt when she needed to.

The relationship between Phoebe and Cole definitely increased my passion for the character. I loved the way they worked together, I loved the way that Phoebe had to battle with her inner demons to be with him, and I liked the way that Cole turned her evil. I am one of those people who occasionally wants the bad guy to win once in a while, just to switch it up a bit.

"Long Live the Queen" has to be my all-time favourite Charmed episode. Not only did Phoebe look incredibly beautiful throughout the entire episode, but I also liked the way that she was very controlling and angry all the time. We don't usually get to see that side of Phoebe, and I liked that she was able to let it out. However, she didn't lose the essence of Phoebe, the way she battles with herself. Whilst she was good, she was battling with her dark side, she didn't want to be evil. But when she was evil, she was once again battling with herself, not wanting to be good.

However, I do agree with everyone when they say that Phoebe's character was definitely almost ruined in the final seasons. I didn't like the way they made her love centric - don't get me wrong, I didn't go off her, I still adored the character, but she just occasionally annoyed me when she went on about finding love. I felt that she should've still been with Cole, rather than going out and being with lots of different guys. Maybe they should have brought Coop in much earlier?

I also didn't like in Season Eight, when Phoebe was the one who was very willing to give up her powers, and start her magic free life. Phoebe was the one who gave them their powers, she was the one who was very excited about her powers, I don't feel like she'd be the one jumping for joy at the opportunity to give them up. Though Alyssa/Phoebe did get even more gorgeous in the last season...so it wasn't all bad

Prue and Piper really tie on my list and i cant really choose to be honest.

Piper from the get go was my favorite no matter what, i mean piper really connects to my personality I think and yeah some people didn't like Piper in the last few seasons but i never stopped or ever thought she wasn't acting right. I thought that all through the series she reacted normally to her situations. I liked how she became a bit more witty and outgoing after she took over Prue's role as eldest Sister. And shes very down to earth i mean she dresses a bit conservatively but beautifully and she doesn't try to show her body all the time shes got the kind of beauty that you can just see.

Prue is just the type who means business. And shes a perfectionist like i can be but she was a great older sister very protective and smart. And then we saw her loving and caring side at times. I really loved how she was with Andy she was just more carefree and fun like in the Video store in "The Forth Sister" She was my favorite sister for a time lol but now I'm to a point where i cant decide lol.

Phoebe she was a great character as well but she was just i don't know not my favorite lol but i mean from seasons 1-4 i think she was great but after she just all of a sudden hated Cole she just wasn't the same caring loving person i don't think.

Paige was funny and brought a type of quirkiness to the show and she was OK but kinda like Phoebe she just wasn't my fave.

So its a tie between Prue and Piper for me but i did vote lol

Well, this is tough. This is like choosing your favorite food, or color. Well, it is hard for me anyways lol.

Prue, was an awesome character. She was the rock that held the family together, when the Halliwells were weak. She was the most powerful, and kept people in check. Though, I do have to admit, she isn't that groovy for me. (yes, I said groovy hehe).

Piper, she was so wonderful. She ended up being a favorite for me, all the time. She was the most powerful in the end. She was the most grounded, and though she had her flaws, she was the greatest for me.

Phoebe, well, I have grown to love her. Being a writer of her all the time, makes me understand her character and feel for her in times. Though, there were many times I sort of want to hit Phoebe for her immaturity, she is loveable.

Paige, well, she is the quirky one right? Though very insecure when she was first introduced, she became powerful with herself, and a very great whitelighter.

So...verdict? She may need to be....Piper.

For me it has always been a toss up between Piper and Phoebe. I was probably 9 when I first started watching charmed and I always thought Piper had the coolest powers. I started watching charmed when they were in season 4 I think. I don't really remember because at the time they also showed the first three seasons. I liked Phoebe because she was the prettiest and because I thought she had this great sense of humor. I liked Paige and Prue but I always felt more attracted to Piper and Phoebe

I most definitely voted for Piper.

From the responses I read, I think my initial take on the characters might have been different from most, since I wasn't a little kid when I started watching the show. The first episodes I watched were from season four (Black as Cole, and Hell Hath No Fury), and when my roommate insisted I stop making fun of the inconsistencies in her show and watch from the first season, I had already formed these tentative views of the characters. I was immediately attracted to Piper, given the blunt/witty/badass behaviour I saw from her in those initial episodes, and when I went back to the beginning, I was completely thrown for a loop to discover that she hadn't always been that way. Seeing her grow from this shy, indecisive, insecure girl into the assertive leader she became when reluctant following was no longer an option, it just made me love her all the more.

Prue, Piper and Phoebe will always hold a special place in my heart, because the first thing I fell in love with was the seamless, believable interactions between the girls as siblings. It was all about the little things, and I was just in awe. Phoebe was fantastic; she was free-spirited and a great balance to Piper and Prue, and while I loved her immensely in the early seasons, her character was completely ruined for me by the end of the show (as I can see is the same for a few others out there). Between her and Billie, in season 8 I was so annoyed I skimmed most of it. From the moment she entered her, “I need a baby I need a baby I need a baby I need a baby” phase I just couldn’t handle her. And while the scene from The Lost Picture Show (her meeting with the woman from the insemination clinic, where she listed the specific features she wanted in her little girl) was probably supposed to be funny, I don’t think I was ever more irritated. I wanted to punch her in the mouth. Ugh. It really saddened me the way they cheapened her. All the girls had their moments when they were a little hard on my nerves; even Piper, at the height of her Dan/Leo “dilemma” when she was clearly in love with Leo, but kept stubbornly insisting on staying with Dan and making things harder for everybody. But by the end Phoebe was just beyond redemption for me.

Prue I have sort of mixed feelings about... my personality is closest to hers, and watching the way she bossed Piper and Phoebe into doing things her way, even when it wasn't necessarily the best way, it bothered me. It bothered me, and yet I know being the oldest in my family, if I'm going to be honest, I do tend to dig my heels in and insist things be done my way. She was never my favourite character, but I understood her.

Paige grew on me. By the end of the series, Piper was still my favourite, but I liked Paige much better than I liked Phoebe. I feel she’s another character who grew a lot over the course of the show. In season four, I wasn’t her biggest fan. At that point, the thing I admired most about Charmed was still the sibling dynamic, and she was SUCH an only child in the beginning that I resented her. She was the inexperienced witch trying to do everything by herself, and she had a huge hate on for Cole long before he became the Source, and that judgemental nature never sat right with me. I know a lot of people will disagree on the “Paige” front, but I have a really difficult time accepting change, lol. Midway through the fifth season I realized my dislike had settled into indifference, and by the sixth season, she had wormed her way into my heart. Paige, I think, found a way to have her own life without ultimately abandoning her sisters the way I feel Phoebe did. And she was quirky, and fun, and sarcastic… she brought a little bit of the personality I missed so much in Phoebe back into the show.

At their best, I would probably order them; Piper, Phoebe, Prue, Paige… but as a whole, taking into consideration everything that moved me in a positive/negative fashion throughout the series, it would go; Piper, Paige, Prue, Phoebe.
