Wyatt or Melinda?

Since season 2, we expected Piper to give birth to a baby girl named Melinda. During season 5 we waited with bated breath for the little girl to be born but at the end of the episode "The Day The Magic Died" we were all shocked by the birth of a son.

Now many of us protested, we wanted Melinda but got Wyatt & some of us were okay with the idea of Wyatt as we grew to love him in the seasons to come. So here's the question, who should have been born in season 5? Melinda or Wyatt?

If Melinda were born what would you have expected from the little girl? Would she have been as powerful as Wyatt or would you have changed that?

If you are on Wyatt's side, what would you have changed about the twice blessed child?

I have never really cared about her having Wyatt instead of Melinda. It was just something that never really bothered me. If she had given birth to a six armed, green alien, I wouldn't have minded that either. ... Okay, maybe I would. As for voting, I voted for Wyatt. I like the fact that he broke tradition. But as for him being insanely powerful, at times more powerful than the Charmed Ones, I'm not sure I liked that. It did give him a plot line, instead of having him just be kept in the background and the next thing we know he is six years old (shows have done that before).

Really, even though I have never been much of a fan of Wyatt (or baby Chris, for that matter), I have never minded the fact that he was born instead of Melinda. Plus we saw that Piper got her eventually in the little scenes of the future in the finale.

As for how things would be different with her... I don't know. I think they may have kept the same plot-line.

LOL, I actually should have added that option. My bad.

Actually, I would have gone with that option, even though I was slightly disappointed when Wyatt was born, I grew to love him as the seasons continued but I sometimes wonder what things would have been like if Piper had Melinda. I would have hoped that little Melinda would have taken after her namesake with her powers. I do not like the idea of a little baby being basically unstoppable just because he is the Twice Blessed Child. Melinda could still have had the title but her powers needn't be that extreme.

So if I really had to choose, I'd go with Piper having Melinda instead. Maybe if she had Melinda & they didn't follow the same path with her as they did with Wyatt, season 6 wouldn't have revolved around him & Chris so much.
