So much water!! Wait, so when you were hit by a moving bus, were you at the side, or in the front? Anyways, It seems like you are having uch more fun at your school then I am. And it's crazy that you're going to beach with your teachers! AND you only have, like, 5 kids in your class? Damn. Well, good luck with your finals! Knock em' dead! I, too, am preparing for finals. I still have to write a monolouge for Theatre class, as well as memorize another monologue by shakespear (if I spelled that right). It's all very overwhelming. But I'm pretty sure it will be worth it in the end. BTW Manar, thanks for this resurrection! ;D Welcome. I was at the side. It didn't exactly hit me, I was stepping back because of that annoying kid and before I know it my elbow hit something. Turned out, it was a bus. It still hurts now, but not too much. I was in shock for some reason. It wasn't anything big, but still. lol Yeah, we're only 4 students. 2 guys other than me and a girl. Even though it's a small number, we still had a lot of fun. Thanks and good luck with your finals, too. Hope you do well. Damn, but the things you take, we don't take. haha I'm sure I'll do well, but not too well. Average is the best word. ;D There are 3 classes in my school who have about 4 or 5 kids in one class as well. I'm wondering if that's better or worse then a class with 20 people. I'm trying to prepare for my exams, but suddenly all teachers decide to give more homework and do more tests this week, ugh... Anyway, I'm glad this school year is almost over. It sucked most of the time. Haha, I thought it was rare to have classes with so few students. I'm not sure myself which is better, and I have been in a class with 20 students, but a long time ago. I'm glad it's almost over, too. It was a pretty good year, especially the second part of the year. I just want the summer to come already! ;D 4 people in your class? And I thought my class was small (20 students.) I I've been meaning to post here for a while. My parents have just finished re-decorating the house, including my amazing room. The builders were professional enough, but they wouldn't stop whistling! I also got an antique stand for my Book Of Shadows, it was from some church in 40's or something.. The guy in the antique shop was old and couldn't talk well, so, with my short attention span, I wasn't paying much attention. I think it was the 40's, might have been before that. I'll check next time I go in there.. And gah! I hate my iPhone right now. I fixed a problem, and by fixing that I caused another. And by fixing that I caused another problem. It's driving me crazy, I'm even considering buying a new one completely.. or taking it to someone to repair it.. We'll see. Seeing as school ends tomorrow, I'll be free for ages and I might spend a day trying to fix it or something. For now I'll just have to use one of the old nokias that are lying about, although I hate hate hate that Nokia N96. It's so ugly. I'll go with the Nokia N97 that used to belong to one of my brothers. I'm just going to stop now. *looks around awkwardly.* Haha, yeah, just 4. Congrats on re-decorating you house and room. We're gonna re-paint the walls in my room. Not sure which color to go with, though. I have a crappier phone. It's a Motorola, but not sure which one it is. I'm thinking about getting an iPhone, but I think I'm gonna get a BlackBerry. Not sure. Good luck with fixing your iPhone.

I've been dying to repaint my room, but for some reason everyone throws me awkward glances when I tell them I want my ceiling painted black/midnight blue and because of the narrow-minded Indian mentality some of our guest have, I'm not allowed to try my hand at a PG-18ish mural on the wall beside my bed.
In other news, I might get six inches off my hair given to some cancer organisation after I look into the details and after it has grown a bit longer. I haven't had a hair cut since December.

That's sound pretty sick. I think I might prefer to have the midnight blue for the entire room. But it sound really cool. That's really cool, Brandon. It's good to donate hair, helps with the self esteem. But I can only imagine how long your hair is...

Okay I have got a Chem final tomorrow, which I am totally prepared for, but I can't get any sleep. So I'm here, and there, and here again, and there. Oh and there. And on Youtube, watching this chick in Italy teach Arabic. She teaches well, and although I have been taught the language in school, I didn't really (now do I now) care for it. It's just fun watching her teach. Such a vibrant personality. Here. She's somewhat of a linguist. Her accent isn't perfect, so some of you may laugh, but trust me, it's a million times better than some of the Arabs I encounter. She also has some Arabic lessons in Italian, and I think she teaches Hebrew. Yeah.

Speaking of the Arabic language, I love how it's different around the Middle East? Of course I prefer the Lebanese Arabic, which I speak. But I hate learning Arabic in school. It's completely boring, with all the rules and the grammar. I actually prefer to speak English more than Arabic. Haha. But of course I have no problem speaking Arabic, as it is my native language. I watched part of one of the videos of link you posted, Brandon - thanks, btw - I would've watched it all, but it's too long and I'm too tired to wait for it to load. I must sleep. Anyway, Maha's personality is great and she seems really fun and relaxed. And she's really good at teaching Arabic. Since we're sharing videos links, check out this one. This guy is hilariously right. "Do you want a cookie, bitch?" Priceless! And this one. It's the strongest man in Egypt. He's married to four women and has 35, yes 35, children. And he has sex 15 times a day. With each one of his wives. Because he has to. lmao!

I've got some really really good news and right now I just want to share it with the whole world! So, where better than on the forum here?
I've just found out that I can join the RAF in October as long as all my medicals clear and as long as I pass a fitness test by September. I broke my wrist which meant I was downgraded for a year and prevented from entering, but when the year was up, I found out from a specialist that I'd also stretched a ligament and displaced my wrist slightly and was told I was probably going to stay permenantly downgraded but I found out today that since I've had one month pain and symptom free that they'll consider me for the October entry, providing that I remain pain and symptom free until then and then that other two conditions.
I'm so so happy now! It's taken my about 10 years to get through the selection processes, through my A-leves and university and then a transfer from the army to the raf (since that was the only wat to do what I wanted at the time) so I'm so glad that all my effort hasn't been for nothing.

Hey everyone! I haven't been on Shadow Tales in about over a year, but the boredom of summer has made me check in on this site. Good to know it's still up and running. I hope all the friends I have made on here are doing great, and hopefully I can get in touch with a few of you soon. Unfortunately, it seems like either everyone has changed their screename, or a new generation of C-Netters (whoops, nope, wrong site), scratch that Shadow Talers has come around. Anyways, this was my little ramble. Just thought I'd welcome myself back. How's everyones summer going?

All right, so I just needed some opinions on this matter since it has me scared out of my wits end. So, with college coming nearer and nearer, I'm giving it so much thought as to where I'd want to go. But the one school my counselor is really confident I'd get into is UCONN, University of Connecticut...if you didn't know. And it really seems like a good school. But it's in another town. An hour away from home. And I've never been there before. But it's a public school and it's really good. They pretty much have so much to major in. But I've always been one about my family, so I really don't want to leave. But the weekly pissed off feeling I get with my dad makes me want to leave. And the other school, Sacred Heart University, is a private school. A rich school. With lots of rich kids. With shiny rich stuff. But my brother goes there, and I'm really familiar with it. And I know an adult or two who works there who can put in good word for me. But, my brother says it's not really diverse or anything. And I like diversity. And it's pretty expensive. And if I do go there, there will be benefits and such, and I'll still be at home. Which I might regret later with dad stated above. So any advice on the problem or a good "suck it up, bitch baby" rant would be nice. Well, not the rant. And do share what are you doing for your senior year. Or what you did senior year and share your beer chugging college days here. 'Bout time we woke everybody up!

I heard State/public schools in the US are better than the private ones, mainly because they're affordable, and you get a good education. About the home thing, many of my res-mates here go home on the weekends if they want to, so you could consider that, if home is close by.
In other news, I'm finally integrated into the whole Freshman Fifteen crap. I just think I lost 15 pound than gain it. Oh well.

I may be biased, but I think private schools are better. I got to a private High Schol (only 96 kids in the entire school) and we really get one-on-one time with teachers and we move at a very steady pace. Most students in AP classes passed the AP test at the end of the year then at the public school near by. The only drawback is, your right about it being expensive. Our tuition is $9,000 a year, and this is High School. I'm thinking about going to University of Incarnate Word in San Antonio, TX next year but they yearly tuition is over $30,000, so unless I get some scholarships this year, that's not gonna happen. Heh.

And all those things above do apply. But I think it's just a matter of growing a pair and leaving the nest. It'll be the VERY first time I'd really be alone. My counselor calls it "the full college experience." But I think I could probably visit every other weekend or something. There is another public college in town, but it's just like my high school. And it's pretty much the crown jewel of ignorance, loud people and sagged jean with underwear exposed.
I take it you're not a fan of the freshman fifteen? I actually wish to embrace it with open arms. Just avoid mirrors.
The hell?! 96 kids?! I'd assume your all friends with each other. Or at least on a full name basis or something. But I'm surprised that tuition is so high. But SHU is about the same. Thank GAWD for financial aid! ;D

We're definitely not all friends, but we do all know each others names. Haha. But yeah, i've gone to private school my entire life, but around here, all of the 'gangsters' and whatnot go to the local public school, while most else go to my high school, if not the closest other school which is about 30 minutes away. People still have the notion of Nuns and priests teaching public school, but i've never had a Nun as a teacher, though we do have a priest at our school who teaches Theology. Ha.

If a private school is small, it's better. If it's huge, then f*ck it.
Oh, and when I go to uni, I want to be as far from home as possible. Going home every weekend just seems a bit odd to me. I want to have some freedom, and learn to be a little more independent.

I've done both private school and public school but to be honest, I don't think that's what you should be looking at. If you like diversity and what a wide range of what to major in then think about the public school that's an hour away. Yes, it's an hour away and you're a family person but it doesn't mean that you can't see your family.
I went to a boarding college that was 45 minutes away from my family an saw them once a month, which was the best. I was away from my family who would constantly do my nut in because the house was far too small and I just felt like I didn't have my own life.
Then I went to a uni that was two hours away, and still had the option to go home at least once a month if I wanted, because that uni offered more of what I wanted than the uni in my home town or anywhere closer.
So, the main question you want to ask yourself is if you stayed close to home would you grow to regret it because you didn't get to go out on your own and not just get the full college experience but also the the life experience that living even just an hour away can give you?

And that's what's scares the most: growing up. I just had a deep conversation with my brother in his car yesterday on going away for college. One thing is as clear as day: if I do go, NO SCREWING AROUND! If I screw up, it's on me. Yes it's more freedom, and I think apart of me would regret not leaving on some level. But all of me thinks I need to stay with family as long as I need to. There's also the issue on how I'm going to support myself. I'd have to get a job and all that responsible mess. And I think my mom was on the verge of tears thinking about me leaving. So nothing's set in stone but I'm pretty sure I'm going to SHU. I'll explore my options more.

Do YOU screw around, Brandon? . But yeah, I'm usually a clean guy. If I find that I can't move around in my room, it's dirty. I clean when I feel it's cluttered. And I do dishes. ;D

I didn't mean literally clean up. The messes you might get yourself into are way past OCD. Are you certain you're (mentally) ready for University? I know a few kids in the dorm I live in who did an extra year at school just because they didn't feel they were.
You do have a lot of time to make this decision though. From what I read, senior year has just begun for you.

Hell no, I'm not ready! I would go as far as to stay in high school another year just because I'm scared of the big bad world. To me, if it's time to go, it's time to go. Oh yeah, I'm just getting warmed up. SAT's, prom, classes, normal high school drama, the works. Still, thanks for the moral support, ST!
