I'm reading "Golden Compass" or actually trying to read more of it, that is. Ross and my other friend have been on my neck about it and it is good, but I just find myself not as interested with the beginning as I've been with other books. Then again, Harry Potter's first chapter wasn't exactly a Draw-Me-In either and that was worth sticking out 7 books later, so I need to be a little more fair.
But Harrison mentioned this Charlie Bones series to me and I'm really wanting to look more into that, so I might be reading that sometime this summer.

Oh, I know it's about all these different teens-kids-whatevers with different abilities attending some school and they even have individual powers as well. This Charlie Bone dude apparently can hear conversations from inside photographs, art, from the time they were made, if I recall correctly. I didn't want to read too much into it at risk of spoiling myself, but I'll definitely be checking it out.

It actually sounds quite interesting I might have to check it out as well. I love the sound of that Charlie kids ability that would be fun to have.

Oh, Phoenix, I totally know what you mean with Golden Compass. It definitely is a good book, but it must have been the book that took me the longest time to get into. And wait until you read the 3rd one, it's so slow. But I guess it's worth it in the end anyway.
As for me, it's Robin Hobb's Shaman's Crossing. Good book. I might end up liking this series more than her Farseer/Tawny Man trilogies.
I'm also into the manga Death Note, but I seem to have lost interest at the moment. Oh, well.

That series is pretty interesting and you really should check it out. It's about a boy named Charlie Bone who is known as an Endowed child of the Red King. He goes to Bloors Academy where he befriends others that are endowed and some that aren't. The books are kinda light reading and really really good. I'm sure you'll enjoy them. I can't wait for book 7 to come out in September. As for me, I'm still finishing up "New Moon" in the Twilight series and then I'll be reading Eclipse.

After The Hole by Guy Burt:[/b] I love it. I am almost finished though. But it's amazing how you cannot trust the narrator. A Beautiful Mind by Sylvia Nasar:[/b] I am loving this one, too. Although it is an unauthorised biography, it is structured like a novel. It shows the blurry bound that separates ingeniousness from insanity. I am almost finished with it, too. American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis:[/b] Amazing book that shows demonstratively the possible consequences of imbued materialism and how there seems to be some sort of an emptiness in your life when you have everything you want in a corporeal layer but not psychologically.

Since my exams are finally over, I thought I could read a little extra stuff for my own pleasure, how could I have been more wrong ?! I have my thesis to prepare so basically my readings are focused on Medieval witchcraft and "deviant" (understand heretic) beliefs against the pre-Inquisition in Spain... Seriously, I don't want to be an ass-kisser or anything else but I think that whan I have to read something else, it will be the Shadow Tales stories... Feel free to say it's pathetic LMAO

I'm a StarWars freak as well as a Charmed One, so don't make fun of what I'm reading, LOL. (My brothers do, though, LOL)
I'm currently in the middle of the book Fury, in the Legacy of the Force Series. I'm also starting The New Rebellion, and I'm rereading The Truce at Bakura and The Crystal Star.

Is that the book with someone holding an apple on the cover. Because if it is i heard their making a movie out of it... As for me I'm currently looking for a new series to read. I read harry potter 1-3 and it was really good. As for Charlie Bone, my friend is reading that book and she tells me its really good so i need to read it now lol...

I know i'm really late, But I LOVE the Charlie Bones series. The first too are good, but I haven't gotten around to the last one. The Endowed's powers are pretty cool, two girls are telekinetic, Charlie can hear in photographs, and even leanrs to go IN them, someone else can feel peoples emotions through their clothes (cooler than it sounds), and another can create storms.
Did you know that the WB bought the screen rights to 'Midnight for Charlie Bone', and are planning the movie? I'm SO excited.
Sorry for my ramble. Lol.
Right now i'm trying to get ahold of 'Without You: A memoir of love, loss, and the musical Rent' by Anthony Rapp. It's not at any bookstores or anything. I'm just going to buy it online today, as it usually ships within 24 hours. I heard it's good, though I also heard there is a graphic sex scene. I really don't wanna picture Mark having sex. Gah.

Well after putting Twilight aside during my exam season, I finally picked it back up a few days ago and I finsihed the day before yesterday. I really enjoyed it despite that obviously the book's target audience is female I found Stephanie Meyer's style of writing so captivating I was just instantly drew in. I also loved the way she created her own vampire mythology instead of sticking to some of the better known ones, and actually I found her ideas very "believable".
I'm not too sure what I'm going to read next, I'm going to look for another book today, but if I can't find one, I'm going to read New Moon, the Twilight sequel.

OK, so, it took me a day, but I just finished reading a book called 'Define "Normal"'.
Summary from Amazon.com:
"When Antonia is assigned to Jazz as a peer counselor, she figures there is no way she can help this tattooed, pierced, incorrigible girl. They are complete opposites. Antonia is a straight-A student whose parents are divorced and she is struggling to keep what's left of her family together as her mother battles depression. Jazz's family is wealthy and seemingly perfect. As they continue through the 15 hours of peer counseling, it becomes clear that both girls have issues they need to work through. They go from wary classmates to friends who support and help one another. As Antonia's mother is hospitalized for her depression, Jazz battles her own mother's need to control by quitting the one thing she loves most. Both girls deal with their losses by finding new ways to look at their problems and to resume life as "normally" as possible."
It was very good, though some phrases felt like they were over used. I'm guessing this book was aimed at girls from grades 7-10, but I quite enjoyed it.

Last night I started and finishes a 320 page memoir about Anthony Rapp, his troubles, grief, and having to balance his personal life with his broadway life, as he starred in Rent as one of the OBC. It was amazing. Definitely one of my favorite books.
I sure have been reading a lot lately. Lol. I'm such a book-worm.

I finished Robin Hobb's "Shaman's Crossing" and did like it better than her other trilogies. I can't wait until I get started on the second book. Yet, right now, I started the latest Spook installment of Joseph Delanay: "The Spook's Battle". Child's books, but I love 'em I also found the English versions of "Quidditch Through The Ages" and "Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them", companion books to the Harry Potter series, written by JKR herself for raising funds -- so I bought them at once, for I already had them in French but I'd much rather read them all over again in their original version

I bought that "Fantastic Beasts..." book when I was maybe 13, 14, can't remember. I can't even remember where I put it, but I do remember liking it.
I'm still on Golden Compass, but might go back and reread "Revenge of the Witch". It's been a couple of years and I just kinda wanna go through it again and get the second book already.
